The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus sips power from the same turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine, capable of churning out 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the powertrain sends power to either the standard front-wheel drivetrain or the optional all-wheel drivetrain. For customers hungry for more power, Lincoln’s optional 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 should be a match made in heaven for you.
Mated to the same automatic gearbox, the engine pumps out a robust 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, which is adequate to outclass every other vehicle on the highway. The Lincoln Nautilus sprints past the 60 MPH in a time of 6.3 seconds and clocks in at the quarter-mile run in 15.2 seconds. The MDX has a top speed of 145 MPH which is an above-average figure for most modern SUVs.

The V6 powertrain aboard the Lexus RX 350 offers the most power in the battle of the base powertrains. However, Lincoln’s twin-turbo V-6 turns out to be the most powerful option in the segment. However, the Audi Q5 annihilates every competitor in the speed charts, clocking in the 0-60 mph and quarter-mile runs faster than any other rival. Thanks to its Quattro system. The Lincoln Nautilus finishes 1 second, although the Audi Q5 is faster by almost 1 second.
How well does the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus handle?
The Lincoln Nautilus is an excellent everyday cruiser, with every aspect of its riding dynamics catered towards a relaxed and composed ride. The automatic gearbox keeps the torque stable at all times and provides some occasional grunts of power while charging through fast-moving traffic in highway lanes. The steering feels artificially assembled, but equally pleasant to maneuver. Again, the overall steering dynamics feel more relatable to a lazy cruiser rather than your typical sports SUV from Audi or Mercedes. Moreover, the extra power offered by the V-6 powertrain does inspire some thrill while driving.
The dampers and brushings seem to absorb most of the road undulations very well. Still, some kind of vibrations and disturbances creep inside the cabin on pothole-filled roads that may lead to some compromise with ride quality. Still, we have no complaints from our side when we equip the optional adaptive suspension setup. The higher-level trims get the privilege of 3 driving modes, namely Comfort, Normal, and Sport. Surprisingly, the Sport didn’t deteriorate the ride quality even after stiffening its suspension. This model provides superior body control, but nothing that can be exclaimed as magical.
2022 Lincoln Nautilus Braking Performance
Braking is one of those factors that are absolutely crucial for any SUV to prevent any mishap in an emergency situation. The Lincoln Nautilus’ 4-wheel disc brakes take care of all the dirty work while braking in panic situations. The brake assist feature further enhances the braking quotient. With all the braking technologies onboard, the Lincoln Nautilus is expected to a full stop from 60 mph within a very short distance.

Audi has always been a perfectionist in braking performance, as it shows its prowess in the 60-0 braking stats as well. Its braking distance of 112 feet is too hot to handle for most of its rivals. The Lincoln Nautilus does offer some fights with its lightweight advantage and is expected to deliver similar braking performance like the Q5. Whereas, the Lexus is not up to the expectations in terms of braking performance.
