Overview

The 2014 Toyota Camry is majorly unchanged. However, Toyota had added a new SE Sport with enhanced features like power-driver’ seat, sunroof and a bigger set of wheels. Surprisingly, in just a short span of time, Toyota upgraded the standard features list with rearview camera, better crash ratings, and improved audio system. The 2014 Toyota Camry price starts at $22,235 and an additional $810 is charged as destination fee.

Featuring a 5-trim lineup of L, LE, SE, SE Sport and XLE, the 2014 Toyota Camry MSRP can be an expense of $23,045-$25,665 this season. Having said that, it simply translates to the fact that the range-leader 2014 Toyota Camry XSE will cost you $2,620 more than the 2014 Toyota Camry L for enhanced specs and assets.

We Recommend

Considering the prices and list of features, we would like to recommend the SE trim for its sport appearance or the top-tier XLE trim for enhanced creature comforts.

Toyota offers a 2.5-liter engine with 178 horsepower as standard. Another, 3.5-liter engine with 268 hp is available for the SE and XLE trims. The 2014 Toyota Camry interior is practical with a cargo capacity of 15.4 cubic feet. With a fuel economy of up to 28 mpg (combined), the Camry is decently efficient. For even more gas mileage, the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid with up to 40 mpg (combined) would make a better case. The Camry is more powerful than the Chevrolet Malibu, lighter than the Honda Accord and has a higher ground clearance than the Hyundai Sonata

2014 Toyota Camry for sale

The 2014 Toyota Camry L can be leased for a term of 36 months with $318/month and $2,305 due at signing along with an annual mileage limit of 10,000 miles. The same model can be financed for a term of 48 months for as low as 3.49% APR with $489/month and $2,305 down payment. The final APR can be lower or higher depending on the credit score profile of the customer, term duration and additional offers.

For budget-oriented buyers, the used 2014 Toyota Camry can be availed of with a base price of $4,499. Going for older model years like the 2013 Toyota Camry could be a matter of $6,300 and Toyota Camry 2012 can cost as much as $3,490 along with a listing of up to 23,754 in total.

Buying Advice

This answer is most of the time easy for us but in this case choosing a model is getting difficult thanks to the difference in the models and we might go with two models in this case we would pick the XSE trim to satisfy our need for the car to look sporty and the XLE trim for the complete comfort. However, there is a catch where we pay a bit more and get both of these in one model by opting for a V6 engine and the car gets both sporty and comfy.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The 2014 Toyota Camry is a great offering from the Japanese manufacturer in the four-door sedan segment. It has managed to become one of America’s best-selling cars and that is no small feat. For a nominal starting price of $22,235, the Camry is definitely worth the value-added features it has on offer. On the specs front, it has over 3 engines on offer, including the 200-hp Hybrid Camry. While it is one of the slowest accelerating cars in the segment, it is not terrible in terms of performance but it is really a car that has a great functional interior setup and lots of features too to back it up. The exterior is not too fancy or bling but it is not too dated or gaudy to look at either.

This answer most of the time is easy for us but in this case, choosing a model is getting difficult thanks to the difference in the models and we might go with two models in this case we would pick the SE trim to satisfy our need for the car to look sporty and the XLE trim for the complete comfort. However, there is a catch where we pay a bit more and get both of these in one model by opting for the 2014 Camry SE V6 variant, for the price of $27,850 and the car gets both sporty and comfy at the same time.

Features
8.0/10

The 2014 Toyota Camry is offered in over 5 trims. The two middle trims viz. SE and the SE Sport trims are the more sporty-looking models, while the starting and ending LE and the XLE are trims that are luxury focussed. The 2014 Camry's base trim L starts at a price of $22,235. At this price point, it seems a little more expensive than its rivals. Here is a list of the key features that are available with the trims of the 2014 Toyota Camry.

The five different trims offered by the Camry have specific features and customization as per your needs. However, the SE trim comes above the LE trim and offers a level above the practical choice, or if you're fond of getting the most out of your car and do not mind the extra price. You may also opt for the more pricey XLE trim with the powerful V6 engine, as the upscale leather-filled interiors are worth the price.

Fuel Economy
9.0/10

The 2014 Toyota Camry offers impressive fuel economy with its base engine, the EPA ratings for which stand at 25 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway, for a combined 29 MPG from its 17-gallon fuel tank. Consequently, the more powerful 3.5L V6 Camry engine drops the economy to 21 MPG in the city, 31 MPG on the highway, and 25 MPG combined. Also available is the Camry hybrid LE variant, which delivers 40 and 38 MPG, while the Hybrid XLE and the SE variants manage to deliver EPA estimates of 43 and 39 miles to the gallon in the city and highway respectively.

The Camry unfortunately performs below average than its rivals. Taking note of the figures provided, it is easy to jump from the Camry to the other available and more efficient options. But this can be reconsidered as the luxuries offered on the Camry is huge and it is really comfortable when driving as well. The base Inline-4 powered LE trim will make for a great pick, however, the upgraded 3.5L V6 engine is sure to add the extra horsepower you'd want on a highway.

Interior
9.0/10

The 2014 Toyota Camry's interior is one of the best in this segment. It is very attractive and filled with high-quality materials. The room inside the cabin is plenty both in the front and rear, making sure that even the taller passengers don't feel cramped in the rear. The Camry's seats are wide enough to accommodate adults easily. All Camry's have the 8-way power-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support standard across the trims. The driver seats in Camry XLE and XSE trims are heated as well.

Coming onto the cargo capacity on offer, the 2014 Camry offers a decent 15.4 cu. ft of cargo space. Although, it is quite evident that the Sonata has a lot more space than the Accord or the Camry, and is a great choice. But still, the convenience features offered in the Camry, complemented by its safety record make up for an even greater buy and is definitely worth considering.

All trims of the Toyota Camry come with an inbuilt infotainment center. The infotainment center on the Camry makes sure all entertainment needs are properly taken care of, along with several other perks. The important aspect of the Camry's infotainment system that separates it from the rest is the extensive level of customization it offers. It has audio settings, phone pairing, Bluetooth connectivity, and hands-free calling.

Some important infotainment features it offers are:

  • Auxiliary Audio Input and USB With External Media Control
  • USB Connection
  • AM/FM Stereo
  • Speed-Sensitive Volume Control
  • 6 Total Speakers
  • Hands-free Calling
  • Bluetooth Connectivity

Exterior
6.0/10

The 2014 Toyota Camry's exterior silhouette is narrower and shorter than most other family sedans that rival this. There is very little variation in dimensions when compared to the competition, whereas it is also difficult to note these in real-world scenarios. Like all other mid-size sedans, the Camry also is easy to navigate into parking areas and through cramped spaces. The Camry got a major refresh way back in 2012 and is set to further get a major top-to-bottom refresh next year.

The 2014 Camry is a long vehicle but has a lower wheelbase and thus which reciprocates into a smaller cabin. It is the tallest when compared with its rivals and offers better handling than the rest, credit to the lower curb weight of the car. On the whole, the Camry looks sleek and aerodynamic and showcases a sweet sense of luxury with its excellent design.

Safety
9.0/10

The 2014 Toyota Camry is one of the safest vehicles on the road. On the safety crash test front, the Camry gets a 5 on 5-star rating from the NHTSA, while the IIHS honors it with the "Top Safety Pick+" status for the year. This is due to the safety upgrades it gets for the year. It also comes equipped with advanced front crash prevention safety aids. This car’s basic safety blanket consists of Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Four Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology that automatically acts when in need and in case of emergency.

Some of the other safety features include:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • ABS And Driveline Traction Control
  • Side Impact Beams
  • Low Tire Pressure Warning
  • Airbag Occupancy Sensor
  • Rear Child Safety Locks
  • Back-Up Camera

Final Verdict

The 2014 Toyota Camry is a great offering and is also considered a premium offering in certain markets outside the US. It is one of the most reliable sedans on offer and offers tremendous comfort, with unmatched feature levels. There is also a V6 which gives out better performance. The car might be slightly overpriced when compared to some of the rivals but is worth every dollar with guaranteed peace of mind every time you drive it.

              My Toyota Camry

Pros - ["Great gas mileage", "Sporty looking"]

Cons - ["Noisy cabin", "Cheap interior"]

I purchased my 2014 Toyota Camry brand new in July of 2014. It's actually a 2014 and a half model. I've driven it to Biloxi, Mississippi. Houston and Austin, Texas. Jacksonville, Florida all with no issues and great gas mileage.

              Awesome camry

Pros - ["Sleek look", "Dependability", "Interior lacks"]

Cons - ["Lacks power", "Leather seat cracked", "Seats don't cool"]

Great car. Has a very smooth ride. Lacks in power but more than nakes up for it in style. The MPG are awesome on the highway and in the city. I don't like the leather in the summer. No mechanical issues and 150000 miles still runs quite and smooth
