Overview

With its accessible pricing and comprehensive performance, the Chevrolet Cruze has always been a likable proposition in the compact sedan class. It has scaled the levels of success with its subtle exterior design, ergonomic interior setup, and high frugality. It is amply comfortable and despite the seating position being less than ideal for some users, the high-quality materials used on the inside easily defy its affordable status. The efficiency is impressive per segment standards and even the ride and handling quality remain first-rate.

For 2014, the American sedan adds a diesel engine for added efficiency and remains unchanged in all other aspects. Though that does mean that a sloppy transmission unit still continues to power the vehicle, Cruze’s strengths easily make up for its fallacies. Additionally, it upholds its practical setup with a large trunk and promises to feed into the demands of family-oriented buyers with its superlative safety ratings. A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze for sale starts at $17,520 and in its segment, it competes with the likes of the Honda Civic, the Mazda 3, and the Hyundai Elantra.

Buying Advice

Falling into a competitive class of compact sedans, the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze manages to carve a niche for itself. Like always, it coalesces a high degree of practicality with its immaculate build and delivers ample value for a vehicle that promises to be an accessible option. The fuel efficiency is top-notch and even handling and acceleration capabilities are competitive as per segment standards. The comfort levels are adequate if not the best and the feature list remains highly extensive. So, for us, Chevrolet’s prime contender in the small car market deserves a buy rating. However, if you cannot look past the hesitant transmission unit, even the 2014 Honda Civic promises to deliver the best bang for the buck.

Overall performance it's a smooth ride fwd car. I get about 26mpg, interior quality is great. I don't have leather seats thank God because I'm in Miami it's hot almost year round. Only flaw is this overheating going on but beside that the quality is good. Had my car since Janurary 2021 no major issues but that car is safety power locks and windows. My car is pretty but has had nothing but issues since I got it. 5 months after getting it all the hoses busted causing fluids to leak out which lead to a new valve gasket cover, leaking turbo, new spark plugs and a leaking oil pan. My driver and passenger windows won't roll down now either.
