The 2014 Ford Fusion is a beautiful mid-size sedan priced competitively starting at $21,970 and offers some incredible assets that are fit for the growing American market. It competes with a few of the best-sellers including the Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Camry, and Chevrolet Malibu.
Made available in three trims- S, SE, Titanium, the 2014 Fusion price starts from $21,970 and goes up to $32,600 for the Titanium with an optional all-wheel-drive system. As standard, the Fusion S trim is averagely organized with features such as manual air conditioning and seat adjustment along with a 4-speaker audio set. The 2.5-liter inline-4 engine seems to continue in both lower tiers whereas the same can be upgraded to a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 variant in the highest trim. The SE does start to vary from the base with the inheritances like the 6-speaker audio system, 17-inch alloy wheels, and SiriusXM. But it is the Titanium trim that gets better than the younger siblings by a mile.

Whatever you need is there in its realm right from the leatherette inserts to Dual-zone climate control to Leather-Trimmed Heated Sport Bucket Seats with power adjustability. This engine is mated to a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission and gets all its power down through the front wheels. The new 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4 pumps out a slightly more 178 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of maximum torque. It is an optional engine available with the SE trim. In the end, the Titanium offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4 engine that pumps as much as 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of peak torque. As a result of the primitive unit, the Fusion does accelerate to 60 mph from a halt in 8.8 seconds and completes a quarter-mile in 16.5 seconds with a top speed of 135 mph.

The Fusion with its base engine configurations does put out almost similar power figures but is way behind the competition when it comes to acceleration timings. Volkswagen Passat impresses in accelerating faster than the others and it is probably because of its turbocharged engine as standard. It completes the 60mph run in 7.6 seconds and crosses the quarter-mile mark in under 16 seconds. The Chevy, on the other hand, produces segment-leading raw power and torque figures of 197hp and 191lb.-ft, but fails to deliver the real-world performance it is meant to and falls under the Toyota Camry. However, Toyota, Chevy, and Ford models have very similar quarter-mile timings.
When it comes to fuel economy, the Fusion with the standard engine is not the worthy one. According to the EPA, the figures are as low as 22 mpg for the city, 34 mpg on the highways, and 26 mpg combined. Ford has equipped the car with a decent-sized 16.5-gallon fuel tank with which it delivers a range of up to 429 miles per refueling. However, if you prefer a more economical lifestyle then the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine can be your pick as the numbers increase by 3 mpg.

As per data, the Malibu offers the best-in-class fuel economy of 29 MPG but has the smallest gas tank capacity which affects the overall range yet outperforms the Fusion which has the lowest EPA ratings in the competition. Ford has done a good job in providing a cabin that looks good and feels good only if you are opting for the Titanium trim of Fusion as the lower ones are quite shabby in their accents. In the wake of an hour when premium and exotic ambiance is becoming a new need, the plastic-deluged inserts do not appear to be promising and that is exactly where the lower trims have been trapped. The symmetrical dashboard is consistent across all but leather trimming on the seats, gear shifter, and door inserts have been kept exclusive to the Titanium only. The Titanium also gets Dual Zone Front Automatic Air Conditioning which is lacking in the other two along with power-adjustability for seats. Hence, it is safe to comment that the interior could have been better on a bigger picture.

If you can give up the sharper exterior designs, the 2014 Passat can also be a great threat to the aforementioned.

For a long time drive with ford fusion 2015 not comfortable of sitting position. According to the big body of car trouble time of watching around. However power and Gas Milage is totally great for Gig worker.

It's a great little car has been there best car I've had, is also the newest and nicest thing I've ever owned so I baby it. I love the leather interior, the heated seats in winter, the sound system that's stock, it's good on gas mileage, comfortable for long trips, easy to clean out and up when she needs washed. This vehicle gets about 25 miles to the gallon was expecting a little better when I purchased it. The interior dirties really easy and the side panels started to come off a year after owning on the interior. It definitely needs a transmission recall but overall it's been a decent car.
