Overview

The Buick Verano Sedan is a compact sedan offered in 4 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $23,700. For that price, the 2014 Buick Verano mainly competes with the Acura ILX, the Honda Civic, and the Toyota Corolla. Between 4 trims, the Verano offers 2 powertrain options. The base engine is a 2.4L inline-4 capable of making 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 250 horsepower-making 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission however the more powerful engine offers an optional 6-speed manual transmission as well.

The 2014 Verano reaches 60 MPH from zero in 9 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 6.6 seconds with the turbocharged engine. Depending on the powertrain, the Verano can manage a combined fuel economy between 24 and 25 MPG. While we’re on the topic of choices, the 8 striking colors the Verano comes in really pull you towards itself. For a detailed review of the Verano 2014, check out the video below by "The Fast Lane Car" to see if this Buick fits your needs.

Key observations in the video:

  • Average looking design inside and out
  • Premium cabin with plenty of features
  • Tight rear seat
  • Spacious cabin and trunk
  • Great ride and handling

Buying Advice

Well, if we had to recommend the Verano, we’d point towards the top-of-the-line Premium grade which comes with a standard turbocharged engine. This trim justifies its sticker price by offering a far more potent and composed powertrain along with features like power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, etc as standard.

2014 Buick Verano a good daily vehicle

Pros - ["Good stereo and speakers", "Very good handling"]

Cons - ["Random parts breaking a lot", "In city gas milage is low"]

The Buick Verano is a good car for commuting to and from work. Not enough room for mutliple passangers like big families, but is very spacious for a sedan. Its a beautiful car inside and out, but it has a lot of issues. The gear shift handle is plastic so it breaks and you have to replace the whole thing or rig it to make the shifter work. The paint is like a film and just peels off of everything...

              Buick Verano

Pros - ["Good on gas!", "Spacious! Looks of room"]

Cons - ["The seats aren't leather.", "It's not WiFi capable"]

Overall I love the car. It's spacious and great on gas. I've had the car for almost 5 years and haven't had any major issues on it. Just normal wear and tear like brakes and windshield wipers. What I don't like about the car is it's has cloth seats. So having kids my seats have stains on them. It also doesn't have internet/wifi in the car like a lot of newer cars have. It does however have XM Rad...
