Overview

The Ford Fiesta  has been amongst the most enjoyable cars to drive in its segment. It offers great handling, decent power for its size and has a ton of Character. Although it has been running in its first generation since it was launched in 2011, its value for money composition, has always kept it sparkling among its segment.

Ford wont be making any cars apart from the Mustang after 2020, a move that would allow Ford to concentrate more on its SUV business. Having that said, we wont be able to see new Fiesta's from next year. However, even in its last model year, Ford has experimented some reshuffling in the Fiesta, in anticipation of a warmer goodbye to one of its most popular products.

Buying Advice

The SE Trim has features like Aluminum Wheels and Power Windows which we feel adds to the premium feel of the Sedan.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

What does one look for in asub-compact car? Low price, fuel economy and some practicality perhaps. However, add an elegant styling, sporty handling, advanced features and yes the driving fun and the whole package now seems more than overwhelming. Well, this is pretty much what the Ford Fiesta is all about and something which has consistently kept it in the top tier of its business, since the last 42 years.

In its last year of production, the Fiesta gets some minor tweaks which are mostly based around re-organization of the trim levels. With the changes oriented towards simplification of its trim line and along with last year's price tag, the Fiesta is looking for some more final hugs, before its departure.

Features
4.0/10

For the 2019 model year, Ford has scrapped the Titanium trim, and the Fiesta is now available in just two trims, the base S and the SE. Both the trims share a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine as standard. the base S comes equipped with extensive list of goods and utilities, while the SE trim adds some extras to that already healthy sheet.

Engine and Performance
4.0/10

Its 120-horsepower rating is average for the class, and although this isn't a necessarily brisk engine, its smooth power delivery makes it enjoyable to drive- MSN.com

Engine and Transmission

Ford offered the Fiesta at first with 2 set of motor choices, to be specific a 3 Cylinder Turbo and a normally aspirated 1.6L engine. The previous engine didn't turn out to be as well known among the masses because of its value matching some higher segment vehicles.

The 1.6L Inline 4 Cylinder is the work horse for the 2019 Fiesta. It offers 120HP and 112lbs-ft of Torque, which is similar to other Cars of the section. The Engine is exceptionally smooth in activity and has enough left in store to wave through City Traffic.

For those looking for a more Hassle Free driving experience, Ford offers a Dual Clutch Transmission as an option on both the trims for an additional $1,000.

Acceleration

The Heft of the Fiesta and the dated 1.6L inline 4 Engine of the 2019 Fiesta doesn't help its motivation in its quest for being one of the quickest hatchbacks in the segment.

Execution Aficionados anyway have the choice of moving to the Fiesta ST as it offers extraordinary quickening from an exceptionally intense engine

The Nissan Versa Note is the Slowest of this lot because of its underpowered motor. The Ford ranks second worst in the 0-60 run due to its hefty weight and Engine while the Chevy Sonic and the Toyota Yaris lead the pack.

Ride and Handling

One of the Highlights and a Top Selling Point of the Fiesta has to be its Handling. The new Generation of the Fiesta was created in Europe and thus the Handling radiates Typical European Flair. The Steering is exceptionally responsive and responds to driver inputs quicker than some other vehicles in this segment while the Chassis keeps the Body stable amid tight turns.

With a Stiff Tuned Suspension, the Fiesta doesn't feel as Comfortable to ride in Cities. Hindrances and potholes can be felt at rates over 25mph and may become relatively uncomfortable at higher velocities.

Braking

The Braking Performance of the Fiesta is like alternate Cars in this comparison. The brakes offer a respectable byte and will in general perform fine in everyday use.

Under substantial braking conditions, there might be a touch of Nose Dive yet isn't disrupting in any situation with the brakes guaranteeing the Car ceasing at the correct minute.

Fuel Economy

The Fuel Economy from the 2019 Ford Fiesta Sedan positions among the best 50% of the section. The Fiesta anyway could have improved the situation in the event that it wasn't so overwhelming, which will in general diminish the MPG Figure.

Ergonomics and Comfort

The Fiesta offers Seating Space for 5 Adults yet in all reality, things are somewhat different. The Front Head Room, Leg Room and Shoulder Room will be OK for average height travelers. Things anyway get somewhat dodgy when we get to the back.

The Rear Seating region in principle can situate 3 Adults however in actuality, it should be best left for Short Adults or Children. The Headroom isn't extraordinary and taller riders may discover their Head contacting the Roof all the more regularly.

The Rear Shoulder Room isn’t the best in Class as well and the dark interiors add to the Claustrophobic feeling inside the Sedan.

The Seating Materials aren’t of the best Quality as well and the Cushioning of the Seats could have been better. The Windows don’t fully roll down and this adds to the feeling of lack of space inside the cabin.

Infotainment

One of the Strong points of the 2019 Ford Fiesta Sedan is its Infotainment System. The SYNC Infotainment interface from Ford is a standout amongst the rivals and is quite easy to utilize and learn.

Design

There are not a lot of things to talk about the Design of the 2019 Ford Fiesta Sedan.

Ford has proceeded with its Aston Martin inspired design for the Front Portion of the outsides of the 2019 Fiesta Hatchback (Ford owned Aston Martin in the 90's with Volvo under an entity named the Premier Automotive Group).

There is a liberal utilization of Chrome in the Front flame broil of the Fiesta. The Quad Beam Headlamps with Black Surround do look modern and adds to the otherwise plain desing of the Ford.

Exterior Dimensions

Seeing from the Outside, the 2019 Ford Fiesta Sedan looks quite compact in size. The genuine measurements propose a similar truth as the Height and Width of the Fiesta is smaller when compared with the rivals.

Exterior Features

Though there is not a lot to talk about the design of the 2019 Fiesta Sedan, Ford has encapsulated some decent set of features in the Exteriors of the Fiesta. Some of those features include

Competition
9.0/10

Ford Fiesta Sedan vs Kia Rio Sedan

The Kia Rio is one of the most powerful and feature rich sedans in the Compact Sedan space. The Ford however matches the Kia in terms of overall Fuel Average and outruns the Kia in the overall range offered. The Kia also can’t match the handling that the Ford offers. The Ford with its near $2,000 difference from the Kia does seem to be a value prospect for people looking for a sedan which is fun to drive but not concerned with the list of features.

Ford Fiesta Sedan vs Nissan Versa Sedan

The Nissan Versa is one of the most spacious compact sedans in the segment. The Rear passenger space inside the Versa is one of the best in the segment and the Cargo Space is something, which the Ford just can’t match. The Fiesta however has a more powerful engine and a MPG figure similar to that of the Versa. The Fiesta is also extremely peppy and fun to drive as compared to the dull driving characteristics of the versa.

Ford Fiesta Sedan vs Chevrolet Sonic Sedan

The Chevrolet Sonic Sedan offers the highest performance in this comparison with the Power and Torque Figures of the Ford falling pale in comparison. The Sonic’s 14.9cu ft. Cargo Capacity puts the Ford’s 12.8cu ft. of Storage to shame. The Ford is the more fun to drive Car among the two despite the less powerful engine.

Final Verdict

The 2019 Ford Fiesta has attended to some of the issues that the 2018 Fiesta showcased. It offers a better cargo space and the Fuel Efficiency has been worked on as well.

The Interiors of the Ford however still isn’t the best as far as Space and Roominess is concerned. Nonetheless, what the Ford offers is a Superb Infotainment System that is truly outstanding in class as far as Usability and Intuitiveness is concerned.

All in all, if space isn't your best need and you are searching for a conservative sedan that does fine in finishing day to day errands while making that drive very fun and energizing, there is no Sedan better than the 2019 Ford Fiesta.
