The 2024 Hyundai Elantra finally gets a mid-cycle refresh for the Elantra generation introduced in 2021. The Elantra 2024 model continues to build on the previous model year. Hyundai's compact sedan is now better than ever and features a performance-oriented N model as well. For efficiency-conscious buyers, the Elantra is offered in Blue Hybrid and Limited Hybrid trims. The 2024 Elantra N and hybrid trims deserve a separate review.
In terms of the standard trims, Hyundai has SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited trims on offer. With a starting MSRP of $21,475, there is an Elantra for everyone. The SEL, N Line, and Limited trims are priced at $23,425, $28,315, and $26,915, respectively. The above-mentioned prices exclude a destination charge of $1,115. For a marginal price increase of $525 over the previous model year, the Elantra 2024 seems like a better value.
Under the hood is a 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. As a result, the performance is quite mediocre for the SE and SEL models. However, things begin to spice up with the 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine, which makes 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. So, those seeking performance and agile handling must opt for the N Line trim. The Elantra N Line also benefits from a better power-to-weight ratio. The 2024 Elantra 0-60 times with the base and turbo engines are expected to be around 8.1 seconds and 7.5 seconds, respectively.
The J.D. Power Consumer Rating for the 2024 Elantra is not available as of now. However, the 2023 Elantra scored an overall score of 79/100, which can be termed average. In quality/reliability, it scored 78/100, while for driving experience and resale, it scored 82/100 and 80/100, respectively. The dealership experience scored just 71/100. We hope to see improvements in every area with the 2024 Elantra. Stay tuned for the complete review.
