Overview
The 2014 Dodge Dart is the only compact sedan from the brand which itself seems like an oddball because we’ve all been used to big Dodges with big engines. It is proof that the brand is changing and buyers have welcomed this car with open arms. This year, its biggest engine, the 2.4 L four-cylinder is available in more trim levels. This year also sees the Aero and GT editions being trim levels instead of optional packages. Prices start at an MSRP of $17,895 and the car is available in five trim levels.
Buyers are offered multiple engine options - a 2 L naturally aspirated engine, a 1.4 L turbocharged engine, and the 2.4 L naturally aspirated engine producing between 160 and 184 hp. You only get a front-wheel drive and the manual is standard in all regions except the 2.4 L one, which comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. In terms of competition, it is against the Ford Focus, the Chevrolet Cruze, and the Honda Civic. In a category with such intense rivals, it has to on every bit of market share.
