Overview

The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan stays true to its name for the purpose that it serves. It has a good interior setup that makes traveling a plush experience, even with a large family. Dodge also gives it a lot of brute power in terms of the engines, staying true to the company’s ethos. In terms of changes for the 2014 model year, you get a new Blacktop Package available as well as a new 30th Anniversary Edition Package that brings the choicest features at a reasonable price. Prices start at an MSRP of $23,895 and go all the way up to $29,995 without options.

Powering the van is a 3.6 L V6 engine that develops a healthy 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels. In terms of competition, this van has to face off against the Chrysler Town & Country, the Honda Odyssey, and the Nissan Quest. Apart from this, the van also gets 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a power tailgate among other features that make it stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Buying Advice

The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan may not be the most exciting car on the market, but it does surely one of the most practical and family-oriented midsize vans we have around. It satisfies all the necessary features of a family hauler. Rivals like the Chrysler and Honda are much more expensive which makes the Dodge pretty much sell itself. In terms of the trim levels, there are three offered and we feel that the SXT trim makes the most amount of sense at $27,995. Even though the base-level trims are well equipped in themselves, the interior design can be bland to look at. Overall, the van still makes a good case for itself at the price point.

Cons - ["Clunky transmission", "Lacking backup camera", "Lacking features"]

Overall I like my van, love the flexibility of being able to use E85 and regular gas, love the versatility with stow and go seats that fold into the floor, convenient features like power doors and lift gate make loading and unloading stuff easy. Some features that it should have included as other comparable vans would be great, such as, remote start, push button start, and a backup camera with th...
