The engine that powers the 2014 Dodge Charger is a modest 3.6 L naturally aspirated V6 motor that produces 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. These power figures would definitely seem less than the Charger’s elder siblings such as the Charger R/T and the SRT ones, but considering the price point, the Charger proves to be a bargain as it packs the largest engine and power figures in the segment despite being one of the cheapest options.
The engine is mated to a clever 5-speed automatic gearbox that brings out the best from the V6 motor and delivers a quick yet comfortable ride quality when compared to the V8 Charger that is on the sharper and faster side. The Charger is available both in RWD and AWD in its SXT and SXT Plus trims and we would suggest going for the AWD configuration for quicker accelerations and more grip, while the RWD configuration adds excitement to the ride. The Charger can do a 0-60 mph pull in 7.2 seconds and cover a quarter-mile distance in 15.3 seconds. It maxes out at 152 mph and is certainly one of the fastest cars in the segment.

The Nissan Maxima and Honda Accord might seem faster on a straight line but they get their advantage due to the fact that they weigh less than the Charger. The Dodge Charger on the other hand has better driving dynamics and brakes. It is also one of the better cars in the competition in terms of overall driving pleasure.
The Charger delivers a decent fuel economy for a car of its caliber. Being a V6, fuel economy is an advantage that comes with the smaller engine unit when compared to its elder siblings with V8s. The Charger delivers a combined fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon and offers 18 and 27 mpg in city and highways respectively.
Having a fuel tank capacity of 19.5 gallons has facilitated the Charger to offer a max range of 526.5 miles on the highway and 409.5 miles as its combined fuel range. The Chrysler 300 and the Charger do have the same powertrain units and tank capacity, but the Chrysler being in a different state of tune is inclined towards comfort and range than the performance-oriented dynamics of the Charger. The Honda Accord on the other hand seems to offer a really good range on the highway despite its smaller fuel tank all thanks to its 34 mpg economy figure on the highways.

The cargo capacity of the Charger is large enough just like its interior dimensions. With a cargo capacity of 16.5 cu-ft. of volume, the Charger certainly offers a lot more than what its rivals offer at a higher price. The closest rival to the Charger when it comes to interior space and cargo capacity is the Chrysler 300 and it is too obvious as both these cars share the same platform. Dodge always makes sure they provide the best of infotainment features and the Charger isn’t different. The infotainment system seems pretty crude in the base trim levels and goes on to offer some premium features once you go up the trim levels. Moreover, Dodge offers their Uconnect infotainment system in the Charger with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display that is easy to use and quite responsive.
The addition of the touchscreen display has managed to reduce the cluttering of buttons in the center console. The 2014 Dodge Charger is one of the best-looking cars in its segment and there is no doubt about that. The signature front and rear fascia is unmistakably Dodge and has become bolder with blacked-out features and other features such as LED tail lamps and the automatic Halogen headlamps in the front. My 2014 Charger R/T has most of the things I prefer in an American car. Classic body on frame design, 5.7 Hemi engine which has been proven for reliability, and the electronics are first rate. Any thing that might be a concern is the MDS system, however the MDS system has not been proven to have any issues, but to keep an eye on. Car weighs in at about 3,900 pounds, is solid, and has a 4 1/2 out ...

Comfortable ride peppy motor, coming up on 200k no issues beautiful car dodge did It right with this one plenty of room and reliable as all get out. Looking to buy an rt next or a chrysler 300 something with at least the 5.7
