Overview
The 2014 Audi A6 Sedan is a midsize sedan offered in 3 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $43,100. For that price, it mainly competes with the BMW 5 Series Sedan, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan, and the Cadillac CTS Sedan. Between 3 trims, the A6 offers 3 powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine making 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. However, the front-wheel drive models get a continuously variable transmission whereas the AWD comes with 8-speed automatic transmission. If more power is required, there is also a 310 horsepower-making 3.0L supercharged V6 engine that comes mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission. There is also a diesel engine on offer. The A6 reaches 60 mph from zero in 7.4 seconds on its base engine, with the CVT transmission which gets pumped up to 6.6 seconds with the 8-speed automatic while the 3.0L engine achieves the same feat in 5.2 seconds. Depending on the powertrain, the A6 can manage a combined fuel economy of between 22 and 28 mpg. While we’re on the topic of choices, the 12 striking colors the A6 comes in really pull you towards itself.
