The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Regular Cab is available with Work Truck and LT trim models. It gets the benefit of both the standard 6.6-liter V8 and the optional 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel. The standard V8 comes mated to an aging 6-speed automatic transmission, whereas the Duramax engine gets the durable Allison 10-speed automatic transmission as the standard offering. Both Rear-Wheel Drive and All-wheel drive options are available, but the former is the standard drivetrain. Besides, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD gets the same list of exterior and interior features as was available with the 2021 model. And since the Regular cab is available with lower WT and LT trims, the features list is kept to a bare minimum. Standard features available with the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Work Truck models are, cloth upholstery and four-way manually adjustable front seats, air conditioning, a rearview camera, and a 3.5-inch driver information display, rear-seat reminder, and teen driver system to name a few.
The LT model is a bit luxurious compared to the WT trims, with an upgraded 4.2-inch information display, keyless entry, Cruise control, alongside a side standard 7-inch infotainment touchscreen system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Despite being lower-trim models, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD WT and LT models come with stability and traction control, ABS and six airbags, and a rearview camera with Hitch guidance and a teen driver system. However, none of the 2500 Heavy-duty pickup trucks have been checked for crash test safety by either the NHTSA and IIHS.
Which trim should you buy?
If you’re buying the Silverado 2500HD with the Regular cab, then the options are quite simple. Between the Work Truck and LT model, the choice entirely depends upon your purpose. The LT model is a bit luxury-oriented, unlike the rugged Work Truck model that looks a bit bare minimum. So, if you’re in the market looking to buy a Silverado 2500HD, know your purpose first and then commit.
Release date
