One of the biggest updates on the 2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty would be its powertrain. Ford has confirmed that the 2023 F-350 Super Duty will arrive with a bigger, 6.8-liter gasoline V8, a bold move in this era of turbocharging, downsizing, and electrification. With the new motor, the output numbers will also be increased considerably along with, as Ford claims, the towing and payload capacities will also be increased significantly as well. Ford is targeting to set the bars high with the updated F-350, especially with its capabilities. The current model’s 6.2-liter V8 is not a slouch either with 385 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque lurking within. Ford also offers a mammoth, 7.3-liter Power Stroke V8 that whips out 430 horses along with 475 lb-ft of torque. Along with that, the Power Stroke motor also has impressive tow ratings too.

The RAM 3500 gets a 6.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 that is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The RAM 3500 drives better than the twins from General Motors with more refinement levels from the motor. The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD gets a bigger 6.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 that makes an okay-ish 401 horsepower along with an impressive 464 lb-ft of torque. Along with that, the Silverado 3500HD has an earth-moving 16,800 lbs of towing capacity even in its base form. The GMC Sierra 3500HD shares the same powertrain with the Silverado 3500HD hence, it has identical power, torque, and tow ratings as well.
2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty Regular Cab Ride and Handling
Pickup trucks were primarily used for towing and carrying cargo items, period. However, with time, these vehicles have started to see multiple usages other than carrying cargo such as leisure activities or going out on a drive for personal purposes. Coming back to the F-350 Super Duty, it previously saw a suspension tuning that felt right at home while under load but after the last redesign, things changed. With the upcoming redesign, nothing significant is expected to change in this regard. While driving, be it well-paved roads or broken ones, the current model of the F-350 behaves like a civilized vehicle by staying stable even at high speeds. Bad roads are no match for the truck since the heavy duty suspension can take it all. Equip the truck with the optional 4x4 layout, you can go off-roading with your truck too but the approach and departure angles can be lower due to the length of the truck.
2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty Regular Cab Braking Performance
The braking prowess of a huge cargo vehicle such as the Ford F-350 Super Duty plays a decision-making role before making a purchase. Well, the truck has never disappointed in this aspect. While the 2023 F-350 Super Duty will see a bigger engine under its hood along with increased power and torque figures, we expect Ford to upgrade its braking hardware as well. The current model gets 14.29-inch rotors at the front along with 14.29-inch rotors at the rear. With this setup, the truck comes to a halt after covering 155 feet while traveling at 60mph.

The RAM 3500 gets the biggest rear brakes here with 14.7-inch rotors along with 14.2-inch rotors at the front. Even though the stopping distance of the truck is not known as of now, we expect it to be at par with the rest of the rivals here. Moreover, it has a lower curb weight than the rivals here as well. The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD gets 14-inch front and 14.1-inch rear rotors to handle its braking duties. As such, the truck comes to a complete stop within 135 feet, offering better performance than the current model of the F-350. The GMC Sierra 3500HD shares its braking hardware with the Silverado hence, its stopping distance and brake rotor dimensions are similar to the latter too.
