Overview
The iconic American legend at the Le Man's race, the Ford GT is a track-bred road-legal supercar. The supercar is a limitedly produced model and getting a hands-on one requires going through a strenuous application process. Based on these answers, Ford decides if you are worthy enough to own a Ford GT. The Ford GT has one of the best aerodynamic designs borrowed from its predecessor, tweaked and modified to the present-day version which has a drag coefficient of 0.35. The supercar gets a carbon fiber monocoque with an integrated steel roll cage and aluminum substructure which gives it better toughness without adding weight. It also gets Gorilla Glass which is comparatively lighter and stronger than conventional glass. The intercooler is neatly tucked behind the side air intakes which cools down the oncoming air and transfers it to the engine. All design elements have been adopted to ensure better aerodynamics, utility, and strength for the Ford GT.
Buying Advice
Since 2023 is going to be a carryover model with only a single trim, It all boils down to the personal preferences and choice of customization one would opt for.
The Ford GT comes equipped with a 3.5 Litre V6 Eco boost engine matted with a 7-Speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission with sequential shift controls. It has been rumored that a V8 engine might be available as an option with the 2023 model year. We expect minor changes in both exterior and interior but nothing game-changing is expected in the 2023 model year. It competes against some of the best supercars ever built like the Mclaren 720s, the Lamborghini Aventador, and the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.

Like the 2022 model year, we expect the Ford GT to be available in only a single trim but offers many customization options. Also, the GT is available in 4 series each of which has been made as a tribute to the accomplishments of Ford GT in various races. The Ford GT is available in the Competition Series, the 67 Heritage Edition Race Red, the 66 Heritage Edition Shadow Black, and the 66 Heritage Edition Matte Black. We expect these series to continue over to the 2023 model year.

Fuel Economy
7.0/10
Fuel efficiency is not something you would consider seriously while purchasing in this segment but nevertheless having a better fuel-efficient supercar doesn’t harm either. The smaller 3.5-liter engine on the Ford GT returns a mileage of 12 MPG in the city, 18 MPG on the highways, and a combined figure of 14 MPG which is quite impressive. Unfortunately, it gets a smaller fuel tank with a capacity of 15.2 gallons resulting in a very less range of 182 miles in the city, 272 on the highways, and a combined figure of 212 miles.

As per our MPG comparison the Mclaren 720S is the clear winner it returns an MPG of 15 miles on the city, 22 miles on the highway, and a combined figure of 18 miles. It also gets a decent size fuel tank better than the Ford GT giving it one of the best ranges in our comparison right below the Aston Martin DSB Superleggera which returns a fuel efficiency just below the Mclaren. Still, due to its bigger fuel tank capacity of 20.5 gallons, it gives the better range.
Interior

The seating comfort on the Ford GT is appreciable, the carbon fiber Sparco seats are non-adjustable fixed seats instead of the steering column and the pedals can be adjusted to your requirements. The seat offers a good amount of support to the driver in quick turns and high-speed driving. As with all supercars, accessibility is a bit difficult. The Ford GT has the option to get 4 interior color schemes, Launch control, Light Speed, Re-Entry, and Dark Energy. All themes are beautiful and have their own classic touch of beauty. All theme gets a touch of Alcantra Leather wrapped seat and headliners.

Except for Aston Martin DBS Superleggera all of them seat only 2 passengers. The exact interior space is not available and we believe all of them have enough interior cabin space but nothing lavish or worth praising. The cargo capacity on the Ford GT is also not worth mentioning as it gets a meager 0.4 cubic feet of cargo space. We believe the DBS Superleggera might have the most spacious cargo space followed by the Mclaren 720S.
Some of the key interior features available with the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu are:
Matte Carbon Fiber Passenger Cabin
Fixed Carbon Fiber Sparco® Seats
Racing-Inspired Stalkless Steering Wheel with Integrated Illuminated Shift Lights
Carbon Fiber Pedal Box with Adjustable, Lightweight, Black Anodized Aluminum Pedals
Adjustable Tilt & Telescoping Steering Column
Serialized Identification Plate
How intuitive is the 2023 Ford GT’s infotainment system?
The 2023 Ford GT is expected to retain the driver-configurable 10.1 color LCD instrument Cluster. It also gets an additional 6.5-inch center LCD touch screen with swiping and pinch-to-zoom capability. The Infotainment system is designed to provide more functionality to drivers rather than entertainment. The infotainment system is user-friendly and offers most of the standard features one can get these days.
SYNC® 3 – Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications & Entertainment System
Voice-Activated Touch-Screen Navigation System
Active Noise Canceling System (Non-Competition Series Only)

Moving to the design of the 2023 Ford GT, we don't expect any changes and rumor has it that the design language is expected to remain the same. The teardrop design though aged is a crowd pleaser and anyone would turn their head to watch this beauty of a car. The car has various design elements that add practicality and aerodynamics. Talking about the dimensions of the car. The Ford GT is longer by 187.5 inches, is wider by 78.9 inches, taller by 43.7 inches, and weighs close to 3,354 lbs. It has a wheelbase of 106.7 inches.

In terms of the curb weight the Mclaren 720s is the lightest. 720s is also the shortest in terms of length at 178.9 inches this also makes it a car with the shortest wheelbase ensuring quick and agile handling on the 720S. The Aventador is the widest and longest followed by the Superleggera. The Superleggera is the beefiest with a weight of 4068 lbs. All supercars have a distinct look but the Mclaren and the Ford GT share a similar teardrop design.
Some standout exterior features include:
Gorilla Hybrid Glass® Windscreen, Backlight
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires
One-Piece Forged Aluminum Wheels
Aerodynamically Optimized Exterior Design
State-of-the-Art LED Headlamp / Daytime Running Lamp Design
Signature LED Taillamps with Integrated Aero / Heat Extraction
Safety
9.0/10
The NHTSA and IIHS are yet to crash-test this beauty. This might be because of the hefty price tag and limited production of the Ford GT. The Ford GT with its FIA-approved roll cage and race history is surely not going to cut down on safety. Most of the supercar undergoes through a lot of simulation to arrive at these production-ready designs and one of the factors that are paramount is the occupant's safety since these cars are capable of doing astonishing speeds.
Other standout safety features include:
Dual-stage airbags
A rear view camera
Tire pressure monitor
Carbon ceramic Brembo brakes
Anti-lock braking system
Electronic stability control
FIA approved roll cage

2023 Ford GT vs 2022 Mclaren 720S
The Mclaren 720S and the Ford GT share a similar teardrop structure with a lot of aerodynamic design elements. Both the cars are really quick and offer very good performance, but due to the Mclaren 720s being lighter it is a tad bit faster than the Ford GT. The Mclaren 720S also offers better MPG figures and has a bigger fuel tank. We feel the Mclaren should be the practical and affordable option but the Ford GT riding on its legendary Le Man's status is obviously worth owning, that is if the company decides if you are.
2023 Ford GT vs 2022 Lamborghini Aventador
The Ford GT and Lamborghini Aventador share a similar price tag. The Aventador gets a bigger V12 and hence produces the most power and torque and is quicker than the GT by a few seconds. The Ford GT is built on a more agile architecture and is peppier and fun to drive as compared to the Aventador. The Aventador also falls short on MPG figures but has a bigger fuel tank and doesn't carry the legendary status of the Ford GT.
2023 Ford GT vs 2022 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera
The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera gets a not-so-sophisticated design as the Ford GT but the car is well built and comes equipped with a superior 5.2 liter V12 engine. The car is a speed monster when it comes to highways and offers good stability but due to its weight, it takes a toll on acceleration and is not quick as the Ford GT. The DBS Superleggera can be considered as a 4-seater family car as compared to the Ford GT’s 2-seaters and if you are in the market looking for an affordable and yet powerful family supercar you should definitely try out the Aston Martin DSB Superleggera.
Final Verdict
9.9/10
The Ford GT is a very much capable car, should you buy one depends on a lot of questions and how much money you have with yourself to dispose of. The Ford GT is a limitedly produced vehicle, even getting a hands-on a used Ford GT might cost a fortune. The car has some of the best race track-like dynamics and it is sure thrilling to drive. Compared to its competition the Aventador comes close in terms of price and offers slightly better performance. In fact, in terms of performance, it falls slightly below the competition. The Ford GT is considered a legend among car enthusiasts and if you have the bucks to get your hands on one, why wouldn’t you not go for it?
