2022 Porsche Macan

The 2022 Porsche Macan is offered as a standalone trim, whereas it also does come in two different variants namely S, and GTS. The Turbo trim has been dropped for this year. Moreover, the standard model starts at $54,900. On the other hand, the top GTS version costs north of $79,900 which is a bit expensive but worth spending every penny. All the versions come with all-wheel drive as standard.

Other than the standard features listed in the table below Porsche offers a bevy of optional features and packages for the Macan. A few of them worth looking at include driver assistance features like parallel and perpendicular park assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane change, and lane-keep assist.

As for improving the comfort and convenience inside your Macan, you can equip it with optional ventilated front seats, heated and adaptive front seats, and much more. While for the audio upgrade you can get a 14-speaker Bose sound system or the 16-speaker Burmester premium surround sound system. As for the performance upgrade, the base model ca n be equipped with torque vectoring, upgraded brakes, adaptive air suspension, launch control, and sports exhaust.

The base engine in the 2022 Porsche Macan will return a City/Hwy/Combined mileage of 19 / 23 / 21 MPG. While the higher trims like the Macan S return 17/22 MPG in the city/highway. The Macan GTS returns the same city gas mileage as the Macan S while on the highway it sees a drop of just 1 MPG. When it comes to range, the Porsche Macan’s huge 19.8-gallon fuel tank helps it deliver a respectable range in the segment.

In comparison, the BMW X3 offers the highest mileage in the city and on the highway. That being said, the base model of the 2022 Porsche Macan falls behind the other cars in terms of fuel economy but surprisingly it has a large fuel tank among all to compensate for the lower gas mileage figures.

The 2022 Porsche Macan sees some minor changes to the cabin. As for the seats, the front seats of the 2022 Macan are the best place to be in be it in terms of space or comfort. The BMW X3 has the best front-row headroom space on offer measuring 41.1 inches while the shoulder and legroom are almost similar here in all the SUVs. While all three cars offer a more or less similar second-row space, the BMW also offers the least rear legroom. Furthermore, the cargo capacity of the Macan is the smallest followed by the GLC 300 while the BMW X3 offers the highest 28.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

The exterior is one of the most exciting things about the 2022 Porsche Macan as it gets a lot of tweaks to the exterior design yet has an uncanny resemblance to its elder sibling the Porsche Cayenne. For 2022, the Macan gets redesigned vents for both front and rear bumpers with an even more efficient diffuser. 2022 Porsche Macan vs 2022 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is one of the most appealing SUVs in BMW’s lineup and has its personality and character. It offers great performance, looks, and a classy-looking cabin. The X3 is not only bigger but also offers a spacious cabin and cargo space in comparison to the Macan.

The turbocharged inline-4 of the X3 offers a smooth and refined engine performance and at the same time offers a decent fuel economy and you get all these perks at one of the most affordable prices. Thus between the two, the X3 is a more practical choice.

2022 Porsche Macan vs 2022 Audi Q5

The Audi Q5 may not look aggressive or striking as a Porsche or a BMW. But under the subdued demeanor, it packs plenty of performance and great driving dynamics. It is quicker than the Macan and also happens to return better gas mileage compared to it.

The cabin space is decent on the Q5 and so is the cabin quality On the plus side, it is the cheapest car in its segment at the moment. Overall, it is an all-rounded package and would meet the standards of a luxury family car.

2022 Porsche Macan vs 2022 Mercedes Benz GLC-Class

 The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is one of the bland-looking luxury SUVs out there but it offers oodles of luxury at your disposal. Right from the engine performance, to fuel efficiency and the interior dimensions, everything is modest and not the best in class.

It is also more expensive than the Audi and BMW but still offers a more luxurious cabin experience than the two to justify the higher price tag. But between the Macan and GLC-Class, the former is a better pick in all respect.

The 2022 Porsche Macan is the closest you can get to a sports car in its segment and it is definitely a no-brainer when it comes to performance and handling. It is the most engaging car to drive in the segment. However, the fuel economy being on the downside, the higher price tag, and the smaller cabin and cargo space could be a deterrent for some buyers  But ff you want a premium and practical SUV with a Porsche pedigree then no doubt this is the perfect entry-level Porsche for you.
