Overview

If you ask a true automotive enthusiast as to why they love the Porsche 911 so much, the obvious answer would be the unaltered design silhouette and the sheer handling pleasure that it delivers. When it comes to delivering the customer’s needs, Porsche has never shied away from going against the industry norms.

Buying Advice

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 seems like one of the most thoughtful versions of the track-focused 911 variant ever made, with a few setups available according to personal preferences. Moreover, improvements in terms of performance are minimal but consistent around the whole car, showing a certain dedication from Porsche to bring motorsport levels of performance and exhilaration to the general public. If you’re looking for a car to take to the track and have some real fun, look no further than the GT3 variant among the Porsche 911s.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

In today’s day and age when a huge chunk of the automotive industry is heading towards electrification, Porsche has made a bold move to launch the new 911 GT3 with the 4.0L flat-six naturally aspirated engine for good time's sake! Sadly, the 992 GT3 is rumored to be the last generation of naturally aspirated cars from Porsche. Whatever the case may be, we are definite that the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is here to make a statement. That too a really bold one!

Features

The Stuttgart-based motorsport marque has put plenty of thought into yet another generation of the 911 GT3. Instead of focusing on only achieving extreme performance, they have ensured driving thrills with the transmission options, not to mention a thoroughbred performance engine that sounds as good as it runs.

Fuel Economy
8.0/10

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is expected to deliver a combined fuel economy of 17 miles per gallon. The fuel economy in the city and highway is expected to be 15 and 20 mpg respectively. The fuel economy isn’t going to be different from the previous generation GT3 but the power and torque figures seem to have increased by a tad bit. These changes might not look different on the spec sheet but the overall performance would have drastic changes.

Especially when considering the fact that it is a newly developed project and is surely expected to stay for some years. The tank capacity hasn’t been announced by Porsche but it is certainly expected to be around 16.9 gallons just like the previous generation GT3. The new GT3 would go on to deliver a combined range of around 287.3 miles which is not bad for a GT3 inspired road car.

Considering the fact that the GT3 is basically a race car with headlights, the fuel economy it seems to deliver is pretty decent. But when compared to its rivals, the Aston Martin Vantage F1 edition seems to have an advantage, thanks to the twin-turbo setup.

Interior
9.0/10

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is going to have an interior layout that is common across the latest generation of 911 cars. The interior is said to be subtle, simple yet elegant all the way through displaying classic 911 design cues.

The interior is set to be a race-inspired version of the latest 992 gen 911s with Alcantara and other premium materials. Moreover, if you don’t want a completely race-inspired interior, Porsche does provide a wide range of optional extras for interior upholstery and accessories. An optional roll cage is also available to increase the body rigidity while making the 911 GT3 safer around tracks.

The interior capacity for the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 hasn’t been announced by Porsche as of yet. The interior capacity will certainly be good enough for a 911 considering the fact that the back seats will be ditched to save some weight. The trunk space though is expected to be 5 cu-ft. which is really small but hey, who cares, it is a 911 GT3 after all! Some of the standout interior features of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 are listed below:

  • Alcantara upholstery as standard
  • Wide range of optional accessories and upholstery by ‘Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’ program
  • Optional Carbon-fiber bucket seats with Alcantara leather cushioning
  • Roll-cage in the rear to provide extra support and prevents the roof from crumpling during a whiplash movement (Clubsport Package)

2022 Porsche 911 GT3: Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is all set to possess the latest and best infotainment and connectivity tech as it is one of the most revered 911 of them all. The infotainment system is going to be the latest incarnation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM). This system is considered to be one of the most interactive and easy-to-use infotainment systems in the industry. The infotainment display unit houses a 10-inch touchscreen display screen as seen across various models that the manufacturer produces.

A 12 speaker BOSE surround sound system is available in the all-new 911 GT3 with a total output of 570 watts and a 100-watt shell subwoofer. The audio can be controlled via the infotainment screen, steering wheel controls, and also a voice activation control system.

The 2022 GT3 would also host SiriusXM satellite radio, 4G LTE hotspot internet access, and satellite navigation. The connectivity features on board include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity as standard. Some of the standout infotainment features of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 are as mentioned below :

  • The latest version of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system
  • 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display as well as two Multi-information LCD display units in the driver’s display
  • 12 Speaker Bose surround sound system with a total output of 570 watts and a 100-watt shell subwoofer
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard
  • Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity as standard
  • 4G LTE hotspot internet access
  • SiriusXM satellite radio and SatNav as standard

Exterior
8.0/10

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is going to get a complete overhaul when it comes to the exterior design. The exterior is going to follow the new 911 992 design cue but with a touch of GT3. The new exterior design is going to make the new GT3 sharper, more aggressive, and wider than ever before. All of this will add to the aesthetics as well as the performance of the all-new GT3 in a big way. The front end has the 992 inspired design cues but with a more aggressive and functional grille alongside vents to improve the 911 GT3’s aerodynamics.

The side profile is sleek, wider, and does carry the unmistakable 911 design silhouette which makes it hard to not stare at it. The rear is where the GT3 truly means business. The single LED taillight strip and the dual exhaust tips certainly add to the 911 GT3’s aesthetics. Furthermore, the ducktail louver and the gigantic swan neck wing distinguishes the GT3 from your run-of-the-mill 911s.

With a lesser wheelbase than all of the rivals and possibly larger track width compared to the previous generation 911 GT3, the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is set to deliver the ultimate handling performance that any of the previous GT3 cars or its rivals. When compared, all the cars in the group are inarguably beautiful in their own right. Which one is the most appealing of the bunch? It depends on personal preference.

The Porsche 911 GT3 enters the 992 generation with a fair amount of exterior changes to further improve upon the performance they offer. According to their website, every gram of downforce is absolutely imperative to them, spending 99% of their time on the final 1% of their track-based cars. . These exterior changes and highlights include:

  • Larger slats on the rear diffuser
  • Swan-neck connectors for the rear wing
  • Wider front air inlet for natural brake cooling
  • Carbon hood with grille openings for engine breathability
  • 20” alloys for the front wheels
  • 21” alloys for the rear wheels

Safety
6.0/10

Porsche vehicles aren’t necessarily known for being extremely safe, partly because cars that can go from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds and achieve equally extreme speeds aren’t particularly safe, to begin with. Nevertheless, Porsche attempts to offer as much they can to make one’s racetrack experience safer.

The Clubsport package is offered at no extra cost and installs a roll cage and a six-point racing harness, not to mention a fire extinguisher mount with the extinguisher included. That being said, the lightweight, aerodynamic construction of the 911 GT3 doesn’t leave much room for safety. Standout safety features in the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3:

  • Clubsport Package
  • Porsche Stability Management
  • Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus

Final Verdict

Considering the amount of performance and sheer driving pleasure that it promises to offer, the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is certainly going to be a landmark in automotive history. Being a 911 GT car with a naturally aspirated flat-six engine that revs up to 9,000 rpm alongside a manual transmission, the 911 GT3 is certainly on its way to becoming one of the best road cars ever produced. So yes, the new GT3 will certainly be worth it.
