Overview

Undoubtedly the longest running sports car in the world, on the roads and in the hearts of enthusiasts for around 60 years. And after all these years of being re-iterated, detailed and souped up for even better driving performance in a continuous development. Porsche still feel necessary to put out a tad more faster version of their already fast cars.

Priced at $143,600 and onwards, the Porsche 911 GT3 packs a 4.0L 6-Cylinder engine under-the-hood. Reaching to the incredible 9000 RPM, the engine delivers 500 hp of power a 339 lb.-ft of torque. The driver can choose between a 7-Speed Automatic and the optional 6-Speed manual transmission.

Buying Advice

There are only a few additions as you go up to GT3 RS from the base model, the GT3. The most important of which is the enhanced power and torque. However, the max speed goes down in order to compensate for the inclusion of large tires. The design and aerodynamics of the GT3 RS are more aggressive than its sibling.

Besides that, there aren’t many differences between the two makes. The price gap between the two is about $44k. Things are different for racing coupes as that of other non-racing rides. Therefore, GT3 is for casual racers those like to put a load on the accelerator not often, whereas GT3 RS is for those obsessed with speed and performance.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

Porsche 911 GT3 is a hardcore performance sportscar that gives a run for money to racing giants like Audi R8, Jaguar F-Type SVR, and Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT. It stays ahead of the competition in terms of acceleration, curb weight, performance and customization options.

Features

Porsche 911 GT3 is available in two trims, namely 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. Pricing options for the former start from $143,600 while the latter starts from $187,500. Compared to the 500 hp and 339 lb.-ft. torque delivered by the GT3, GT3 RS delivers an additional 20 hp of power and 7 lb.-ft. of torque. Maximum achievable speed for GT3 and GT3 RS are 320 km/h and 312 km/h, respectively.

GT3 has a bigger sister and it can be called a trim to it, the GT3 RS. Compared to

While GT3 has more length than GT3 RS, the latter has more height and width. 911 GT3 takes about 3.8 seconds to hit the 60 MPH mark. The same feat is achieved by the GT3 RS in about 3.2 seconds. Other than differences in the specifications, there are also a few distinctions to the interior as well as the exterior. For instance, the GT3 RS comes with a big spoiler that is absent in the 911 GT3.

Fuel Economy
6.9/10

Mileage isn't something that racing cars have to brag about. With those powerful engines by their side, fuel economy is to take a toll in racing coupes. It is apparent with the combined fuel economy of 16 mpg by 911 GT3. Looking at the competition, there isn't much available by others also. Audi R8 delivers a combined fuel economy of 17 mpg, while Jaguar F-Type SVR and Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT draw at 18 mpg.

Competition
8.0/10

Audi R8

Pressing a 5.2L FSI double infusion V10 motor, the all-new Audi R8 conveys 540 hp of intensity and a great 398 lb.- ft. of torque. The ride has an all-wheel-drive drivetrain and offers an incredible 0 to 60 MPH increasing speed time of 3.5 seconds. The R8 parades to have the best quarter-mile remove time of 10.9 seconds. It is fit for ending inside a separation of 96 feet, from 60 MPH, best in the challenge.

Evaluated at $164,900, Audi R8 is among the costly dashing cars. Besides, it has the most CO2 emanation rating of 10.4 and is one of the bulkiest vehicles with 3737 lbs. of weight.

Jaguar F-Type SVR

With a cost of $122,750, it is a lot less expensive than that of the Porsche 911 GT3. It is additionally somewhat less expensive than that of the Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT, which is one more low-value dashing roadster. So, the Jaguar F-Type SVR packs 575 hp of intensity and 516 lb.- ft. of torque, the two of which are best that some other dashing car in its class.

The drawback of the hustling roadster is the 11.4-second benchmark for covering a quarter-mile separate. This is still superior to anything 11.6 seconds displayed by the 911 Porsche GT3. Additionally, the increasing speed time from 0-60 MPH of 3.5 seconds is normal. Shockingly, it is the bulkiest dashing car with a complete check weight of 3769 lbs.

Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT

The most recent cycle of Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT accompanies a Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 bi-turbo motor. It produces 469 hp of power, which is most in the challenge. Notwithstanding, a similar motor conveys an amazing 465 lb.- ft. of torque, less than the 516 lb.- ft. of Jaguar F-Type SVR. Beginning from $171,400 is a little less than the GT3. The drivetrain is RWD, while a 7-speed programmed transmission is accessible.

With a 0 to 60 MPH time length of 3.0 seconds, it has one of the drowsy quickening in the brotherhood. CO2 emission is neither amazing, appraised at 9.8. While ending separation is great at 96 feet, the control weight is significantly more than that of the Porsche 911 GT3, a sum of 3682 lbs.

Final Verdict

The 911 GT3 is the hardcore version of already hardcore 911 R. More saturated color options, a big wing, stiffer suspension, an aero package on it. The 911 GT3 is brewed well for a track. Light where it has to be, sharp where it can be. It makes a hell of an upgrade over the latter with lighter components stiffer sprung suspension.

The GT3 is almost a purest street-legal sports car you can take to a track in under $150,000. Spine-tingling power and quick turning ability, the un-filtered feel of what is happening on the road right to your hands and how can we forget that orgasmic boxer-6 naturally aspirated sound. It all brings in a lot to driving seat and it just built for the heck of driving. Actually, the purest form of it.
