Overview

Giving a proper blend of practicality and a fun-to-drive vehicle, the all-new Jaguar F-PACE is the SUV that has come up with a more stylish appearance for several generations. The crossover offers various luxury features and technology to stand with its key competitors. Influenced by the Jaguar F-Type, the F-PACE is not as rapid as the Porsche Macan. With a standard turbocharged I4 engine, this luxury SUV is not that exciting to drive unless a more powerful supercharged I6 and V8 take the charge. The cabin covers a sheet of good quality soft touching materials. The infotainment system boasts tons of driver-assistive features.

Buying Advice

CARHP recommends customers buy the usual Base trim. Even being the base model, the SUV delivers tons of luxury features. Dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, 13-speaker audio system, and much more to count. Though the engine is only an inline four that delegates satisfactory power. The panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto for smooth integration, the ambient interior lighting make the cabin look more appealing, and a pad to charge your phone wirelessly are the factors to look into. Standard safety features include–Forward collision mitigation, Blindspot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic headlights.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

For the 2023 generation, the Jag has not made any significant alterations. It has bought a new SVR edition 1988, which will be reviewed separately on our website. Ahead of that, the remaining models are unchanged except for some minor rectifications that any manufacturer does to differentiate from the older versions. The standard wood interior trim, wireless charging pad, and several driver-assistive features like Blind-spot monitoring and forward collision mitigation as standard make it a genuinely thoughtful choice. The Jaguar F-PACE will sprint against the BMW X3, the Volvo XC60, and the Porsche Macan.

Features
8.0/10

The Jaguar F-PACE has four trim classifications- the base, the most popular model S, the R-Dynamic S, and the top version SVR. The base trim obtains power-adjustable heated front seats and an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. All the models are equipped with an all-wheel-drive configuration.

Fuel Economy
7.2/10

The base and the S feature a 2.0L turbo I4 engine and deliver an mpg number of – 22 mpg in the city, 27 on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. With a standard fuel capacity of 21.9 gallons over all models, these ensure a range of -481.8 miles when driving in the city, 591.3 miles when running on the highway, and 525.6 miles combined. With a turbo I6 engine the R-Dynamic S trim offers a combined mileage of 22 mpg (19 in the city and 26 on the highway), a combined range of – 481.8 miles (416.1 in the city and 569.4 miles on the highways)

The supercharged V8 on the SVR drinks more fuel and hence provides a combined mpg of 17 (15 in the city and 21 on the highways). It ensures a highway range of 459.9 miles (328.5 in the city and 372.3 miles on a combined basis).

The Volvo is the most fuel-efficient vehicle as it delivers the highest MPG numbers. Though the BMW is not far behind the XC60. 2023 Jaguar F-PACE has the largest fuel tank and aided with competitive mpg figures–it manages the highest range in the comparison. The Porsche Macan and the BMW X3 have fuel tanks of similar sizes, but the Porsche has the dullest fuel economy. The XC60 has better fuel range figures than the BMW and Porsche.

Interior
8.0/10

Inside the Jaguar F-PACE, the cabin looks pretty minimal and is made of high-quality materials. As standard, it gets only one interior color option. The S and the ultimate SVR get five shades- that are composed of a dual-tone steering column. The R-Dynamic S fetches seven color pellets to choose from. The rear door panel is a little shorter than the front one but does not let anyone feel confined when going in and out of the car. The elements on the door panels include soft-touch leather, a nice wood trim, a metallic finish over the storage linings, and a Meridian Sound system. Front panels appear with more nice and fancy-looking controls. The steering wheel looks great. The front seats are embossed Jaguar logo. Heated front seats are no doubt comfortable and harbor suitable padding to support on the long drives–a choice to get ventilated seats. The dashboard reminds us of the Land Rover Range Rover cars.

The infotainment touchscreen is the center of attraction and adorns the overall look of the airy cabin. Controls are well mounted and are under the reach of the driver. Though climate control can be a complicated thing. Sometimes touch response is not exciting. The Center console covers the gear selector and other controls pleasingly enveloped in the satin chrome finish. The Center armrest is of sound height and accepts more storage space underneath. On a standard basis, the shoppers are blessed with a wireless charging pad.

How Intuitive is the 2023 Jaguar F-PACE Infotainment system?

The whole look and feel of the infotainment system is premium looking but is a bit confusing to use. Standard 11.4 infotainment touchscreen is based on the Pivi infotainment system and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. with the latest update, it is also integrated with Amazon Alexa. Ahead of the wireless charging pad, the car gets various charging ports all over the cabin. The Standard 14-speaker Meridian system is pretty sound– an option to upgrade for a 17-speaker audio system. Adaptive cruise control is a pricey thing but the car hosts various standard safety and driver-assistive features –that are handy to use and have decent accuracy.

Highlights of the infotainment system–

  • Meridian 400W sound system

Exterior
8.0/10

The exterior impression of the F-PACE SUV is pretty handsome. Four distinctive lines on the hood look more appealing, especially with the blue shade. Under the hood, it comprises a turbocharged I4 engine. The grille wholly finished in black trim catches the Jaguar mascot in the center. The signature-looking daytime running lights encompasses parking sensors underneath. Front vents resemble the color of the grille. On the side terms, the vehicle gets standard 19-inch wheels engaged with tires of dimension P265/45WR19. With additional packages, shoppers can have red color brake calipers to get highlighted. The side profile achieves a decent road presence. Window trims along with the outside rearview mirrors are finished with black accents. On the rear, the tailgate can be either accessed with the key or by gestures. It proposes a wiper, a Jaguar logo below that, and the usual tail lights.

Safety

This mighty SUV has not gained any safety ratings from the NHTSA but covers a wide range of safety features as standard– and by paying a little more. A standard Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse. The driver attention warning issues an alert if the sensor inside the car detects if you are feeling fatigued. The optional Adaptive Cruise Control with the help of the speed of the vehicle ahead automatically adjusts the pace and applies the brake. In the absence of a turn signal, lane departure mitigation can be used to warn you of a lane departure and automatically steer you back into the lane.

Along with that, it fetches these safety features—

  • Pre-collision safety system
  • ABS and driveline traction control
  • Electronic stability control
  • Post-collision safety system
  • Dynamic stability control
  • Roll stability control
  • Side impact beams
  • Dual-stage driver and passenger seat-mounted airbags
  • Remote Sos emergency call
  • Blindspot monitoring
  • Front and rear head airbags
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Power rear child safety locks
  • Front, back, right and left camera
  • 1st and 2nd-row airbags

Competition

2023 Jaguar F-PACE vs. 2023 BMW X3

Costing $7000 less, the BMW X3 holds a bit more horsepower and delivers a better mileage number. The Jaguar F-PACE has comparatively more length and a larger wheelbase. The interior of the BMW brings a little old-school approach, while the F-PACE has a more polished and refined cabin. The cargo space on the Jaguar is one of the segment-leading. The BMW is faster.

 2023 Jaguar F-PACE vs. 2023 Volvo XC60

The Volvo costs less and brings better mpg numbers. The interior space on the Volvo is better. The Jaguar brings an AWD architecture, while the Volvo has only FWD as standard. Both vehicles contain several safety features, but crash testing of the Volvo is on another level. The Jaguar has a refined cabin, while the Volvo carries on its legacy.

 2023 Jaguar F-PACE vs. 2023 Porsche Macan

Porsche is more costly and more furious. The Jag is good at managing fuel economy. The 2023 Macan is heavier and gets bigger brake calipers on the rear. The Jaguar is longer and serves a larger wheelbase. The Porsche is a heavy vehicle. The Jaguar has more space for the passengers as well as to carry cargo.

Final Verdict

The Jaguar is a good option among its rivals when we look around the interior space, dashboard, and overall styling but, the same turbocharged I4 engine can also be gotten at a lower price and with more refinement on the BMW. Cabin styling, infotainment touchscreen, decent standard safety features, and an average mileage are the factors that insist any customer choose the Jaguar, while the greater acceleration is fetched with the Porsche.
