The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 will see no major interior redesign apart from a few additions of standard and optional features. Hence the cabin will remain the same as the current model. The interior is one of the main highlights of the SUV and it is more luxurious than the master bedroom of a middle-class house. The main highlight of the cabin is the intriguing dashboard design which is dominated by a pair of 12.3-inch screens, one for the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment display. The steering wheel gets the new retro-modern design the brand has adopted for most of its high-end vehicles now.
The controls are minimal and mostly integrated within the infotainment screen. The rest of the buttons are well within the reach of the driver. The center stack is thick and doubles up as an armrest for both the driver and the front passenger and has storage space underneath as well. Every exposed surface is covered either in two-tone leather, brushed metal, or wood inserts, oozing opulence from every angle. The front seats are extremely comfortable and the standard heating/ventilation system for the upcoming model will take the comfort levels to another level. The second-row seats are superbly comfortable too while the third-row seats lack shoulder room and legroom, making them suitable for kids only. The cargo capacity behind the third row is decent at 17.4 cu-ft.

The BMW X7 has an even more spacious cabin as compared to the GLS 450 and naturally offers more headroom but only for the front seat occupants. The second-row seats are superbly comfortable too with premium quality leather seats and electronic adjustments. The Third-row seats are smaller than the GLS 450’s third-row seats and are suitable for small children and luggage items. The overall interior design oozes opulence but the design language is less complicated than the GLS 450’s design. Step inside the Cadillac Escalade and you’ll be greeted with acres of space and an ultra-modern dashboard design that is at par with the chic German vehicles’ interior designs. Owing to the tall roof of the SUV, the headroom on offer is more than adequate and its third-row seats are perhaps the most spacious and practical ones in the segment. The design language is sleek and minimalistic with a driver-focused dashboard design. It also gets the largest trunk in comparison that has a total volume of 25.5 cu.-ft. The Infiniti QX80’s interior follows a different design approach as compared to the rivals here. It is more spacious than the GLS 450 and its cabin feels wider than average. The dashboard follows a rough and tough design theme and the infotainment screen is not so accessible from the driver’s seat. The overall comfort levels and features are at par with the rivals here and can be considered as a cheaper alternative to the GLS 450.
Some interior features are:

Some of the standard features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All three rows get USB-C ports amounting to a total of 9 while a standard wireless charging pad is placed in the center stack just at the front of the cupholders.

- Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- MBUX interior assistant
- Wireless charging pad
- 13-speaker premium Burmester audio system
- 26-speaker Burmester audio system with 3D surround sound technology(optional)
