Overview

Flagship SUV from the Japanese manufacturer, the Lexus LX 600 possesses versatile functionality despite holding a bunch of luxury features. This SUV is a vehicle that is capable of climbing hilly trails and propelling a comfortable ride quality. Sharing the platform with Toyota Land Cruiser, it retains the same rugged persona with a more appealing interior type. A burly V6 engine chimes in under the hood, and generates adequate power to run this dapper beast furiously. Cabin accommodations are as posh as should be in an extravagance vehicle. Things get serious with the trim called Ultra Luxury. Safety features are exciting while operating the infotainment touchscreen while driving is a bit of a difficult task.

Buying Advice

CARHP leads the way going for mid-range Luxury trim, and anyone can definitely feel the difference with its 22-inch alloy wheels, third row to occupy more people, a refrigerator, and upgraded leather upholstery. A handful of various safety features standard goes well with an impressive Mark Levinson sound system. Wood trim in the steering and aluminum pedals achieve a classy look when letting the doors softly without human effort.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

Concerned about the 2022 generation, the Lexus has bought an idea of redesigning. A more sporty interior approach than before is a cool thing especially when it is persisted with an extra modernized platform. Powered by a refined twin-turbocharged engine, it now replaces the older version– the LX 570. Ahead of revised styling, it composes further mileage numbers. Lexus SUV has competition with its classmates like the Land Rover Range Rover, the Lincoln Navigator, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS Class.

Features
9.0/10

The vehicle is sold in five trims levels. The base is LX which showcases space for five passengers. The middle trims Premium, Sport and Luxury carry three rows to accommodate seven passengers, meanwhile, Ultra Luxury deletes the third row and accumulates an executive-type interior with top-notch luxury features. All are powered by a newly refined V6 engine.

Fuel Economy
6.5/10

LX600 is not as fuel friendly as its alternatives. It archives a combined mileage of 19 mpg while showing 17 in the city, and 22 on highways. When shoppers fill the fuel tank of capacity 21.1 gallons, SUV can get along 357.8 miles in city, 464.2 miles during sprinting over highways, and 400.9 miles integrated.

Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class emerges as the most fuel-efficient vehicle when it scores extra one mpg over Land Rover on highways. The same thing repeats with Lincoln when it manages extra mpg over Lexus on highways and makes it a vehicle with the dullest mpg numbers. The fuel capacity of Range Rover is the highest of all and by this, it promises shoppers to deliver the best miles figure on the table. Navigator and GLS class are suited with almost the same sized fuel tank while the Lexus still stands behind with the lowest fuel carrying capacity.

Interior
9.0/10

Authoritative seating space inside the Lexus is a highlight. This huge SUV fits doors of its size that opens largely. Jumping in and out of it feels convenient. Second-row door panels bring window controls with a two-tone theme on them. Meanwhile, front door panels carry identical sentiments with a bunch of several seat adjustments. Typically the cabin offers seating for five, but not utilizing space and Not going for third-row seats would be disrespectful for the huge size of vehicle. Front seats are heated with base, Premium shows ventilation. Things wear a suit of first class when Ultra-Luxury offers captain seat format added with ventilation and massaging for rear-seated passengers. With 5 people seating, seats are highly prosperous and passengers do not complain about the room, while seven seating formats might create complexity for taller people seated at the back.

Power tilt and telescopic steering column do not bring heating function with base– boasted on other trims. But it is nice to hold and feel rooted. A vehicle moderately lifted from the ground shows a commanding view of the road. Over the dash, two infotainment touchscreens (12.3-inch upper and 7-inch lower) receive you cheerfully. Upper trims cover the rear seat infotainment system to delegate a persona of extravagance. Two AC vents on either side. Properly padded center console suited with two armrests with cup holders. Other controls are mainly physical buttons surrounding the gear selector. The Interior is silent and is made of leather upholstery, though the quality of the material used elevates with trim level. It reaches at peak with the last trim that supposes wood accents across the cabin.

Range Rover and Lexus come standard with a seating capacity of 5, while Navigator and GLS bring space for 7 by default. It is clearly visible that the first and second-row seats of Navigator bring a huge amount of space for passengers. It also competes strongly with the GLS class on a matter of the third row. The front seats of Lexus are more comfortable than that of Range Rover. Behind the first row, the cargo space of Navigator is the highest, while Land Rover is the lowest. When all seats were in place, the Navigator leap was ahead of every vehicle.

Highlights of the interior features–

  • Power adjustable front seats with heating function
  • 40-20-40 folding rear seats
  • Power tilt and telescopic steering column
  • Power rear windows with fixed third-row window
  • WiFi connect mobile hotspot internet service

How Intuitive is the 2022 Lexus LX 600 Infotainment System?

Lexus offers three displays standard for several conveniences. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment, and a separate 7-inch display underneath to provide control of climate and vehicle. Supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without such charges, things could have been better with wireless connectivity. A wireless charging pad is offered as standard. Composed of 10-speakers normally, a 25-speakers Mark Levinson stereo sounds freaking good. Controls are placed decently far, so drivers would not complain about reach. Four USB ports are on standard, and six on Premium, but the Ultra Luxury counts an extra four to make it a total of ten USB ports in the cabin. A cherry on top, the Luxury and Ultra Luxury feature rear seat entertainment to push the experience to the next level.

Highlights of infotainment system–

  • 10-speaker audio system
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Lexus assistant
  • Lexus interface
  • Speed compensated volume control
  • Steering wheel control
  • Window grid and roof-mounted diversity antenna
  • Radio data system
  • 3 LCD monitors in front
  • External memory control

Exterior
6.0/10

This year has brought some changes in the exterior impression. LX600 looks way more polished and refined than older versions of it. The hood under holds a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Fused appropriately with the bonnet lid, the lines over it show an updated and more-approaching design that anyone would love. Front fascia covers a huge, huge grille fully furnished with horizontally mounted shiny chrome strips–as Lexus typically does in their vehicles. Catches the iconic Lexus logo at the center. Grille merges all the way with the front spoiler where parking sensors are parked with air intakes on both sides. LED Headlights refer to a sharp look. Side profile enables vehicle carrying a high road presence-still junior than few rivals. Though Lexus supposes only four or shades depending on trims, we personally liked its Silver theme. Standard 20-inch wheels round with tire dimensions of P265/55R0–22-inch wheels on upper models. Outside mirrors and window trims show off with chrome bordering and offer a sense of a high-end flagship SUV. Rear end is clean with the cool-looking tail lights that Lexus wrote under. LX600 is badged on the right corner. Some parking sensors with rear diffuser and exhaust pipes.

Lincoln Navigator is the big-daddy of SUVs, but Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class stands carrying the largest wheelbase. Being the shortest SUV on the table, the Range Rovers shine with extra ground clearance than Lexus and GLS-Class. The highest ground clearance goes with Lincoln. The heaviest vehicle is Lexus, standing a little behind it Navigator offers more weight than the remaining two. Land Rover is the lightest of all. Lexus is higher than GLS and Range Rover.

Safety

A suite of several standard safety features adorns the safety prospect inside. Automated emergency braking by detecting collision ahead and not receiving enough response even after alerting the driver, automatically applies the brake to stop the car. The standard adaptive cruise control maintains a proper distance between the vehicle moving ahead and Lexus to avoid any misconduct. Lane departure mitigation warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal is not used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position. The 360-degree camera system gives a top view of Lexus LX600 and its surroundings for tight parking situations.

Key features of safety system–

  • Standard adaptive cruise control
  • Traction control

Competition

  • 2022 Lexus LX600 vs. 2022 Land Rover Range Rover

With more price Range Rover brings less power, a highly furnished interior, less cargo space, and a modern exterior design. LX 600 costs less but is faster and is longer. Land Rover carries a longer wheelbase while running with a lighter body, while Lexus shows more space to carry cargo. Both have almost identical mpg numbers, but Land Rover’s bigger fuel tank achieves more miles.

  • 2022 Lexus LX600 vs. 2022 Lincoln Navigator

Navigator is a beast SUV. It is longer, has more interior space, is more powerful, and has standard seating for seven people. Meanwhile, LX600 costs extra and offers Japanese tech by bringing Lexus interface, equal mileage numbers, and a heavier body. The Interior of Lincoln is subtle, while Lexus shows off three distinct LCD panels. Both are good for hilly terrains and off-roading with decent ground clearance.

  • 2022 Lexus LX 600 vs. 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class

Mercedes provides a 7 seater format by default, while Lexus 5. Lexus costs more and brings more power, but the GLS is faster. Mercedes also supposes a class-leading wheelbase. Both have equal ground clearance, but LX600 is more lifted from the ground. Mercedes carries less curb weight. Fuel economy is at par, but GLS jumps ahead with a larger fuel tank which results in achieving more miles. The Interior of both is significantly good.

Final Verdict

Lexus tried offering a good package with the LX 600, but rivals are better at it. Interior space is good, standard safety features are exciting, infotainment screens play different roles, the exterior design stands out, the engine is generously powered, and comfortable seats are such factors making the vehicle a good option. Riding is good but handling reminds you of driving a bulky SUV. off-road capabilities are impressive. Want more sophistication, and power does not matter, Range Rover is a possibility. Seeking the best of everything with gigantic size, nothing can be better than Lincoln Navigator. Believes in Mercedes feature offerings, then go for GLS-Class.
