Overview

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is finally making its comeback at a starting price of $69,440. It will be introducing itself in two trims namely the Series II and Series III with a 392 hp 5.7L V-8 engine as standard either in 4X2 or 4X4 layout. Moreover, it has been empowered with a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. Its premium interior with the practicality of cargo volume of up to 116.7 cu-ft is simply enticing.

In addition, to lease a 2022 Wagoneer, one has to pay a signing payment of $3,799 alongside $869/month for 42 months at the least. This 8-seater SUV, with its 7-exterior color options on offer, will be available for sale at the dealerships by the end of 2021. It will be heading straight against the likes of the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and the Nissan Armada.

Buying Advice

The Series II has got all the comfort and convenience with the heat and ventilation functions at seats. The enriching musical vibes with the Alpine 9-Speaker System appear to be more than enough. The accents and trim variations of leather upholstery are also impressive in their appeal. Even the safety pursuit is top-notch right from the base configuration. Therefore, this trim is the one to choose from in all available formats.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

"Some models will roll on big 22-inch wheels, but the Wagoneer's feature appeal is more than skin deep." - MotorTrend

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer comes with an all-new design in two trims: Series II and Series III whose price ranges from $64,440 to $77,440. The 392 hp 5.7L V-8 engine under the hood has been equipped with a standard RWD and an optional 4x4 that costs $3,000 extra. This coupling allows this premium SUV to have a towing capacity of up to 10,000 lbs while having 6.7 seconds 0-60 MPH acceleration at the same time.

Moreover, the destination fee of the 2022 Wagoneer rests at $2,000 and the maintenance cost does not exceed $600 yearly. There are additional investments as well such as $3,295 for the Convenience Group and $2,995 for the Premium Group. For further enhanced practicality, one can also opt for the Heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow Package and 2nd-Row Seating Group, both at $995 each.

Interior
7.6/10

"Jeep has spent much effort making sure the Wagoneer interior is a special place with cut-above styling and premium levels of luxury." - Kelley Blue Book

The interior of the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer has been crafted with opulence and contrasting accents. Two interior trims of Global Black and Seat are in sync with Nappa Leather Upholstery Seats inside the cabin. Along with that comes the 8-way power adjustable front seats with memory, power heating and ventilation for easy snuggling.

The 2022 Wagoneer also gets standard 2nd-row seat heating but that remains exclusive for the Series III trim. There is a generous cargo space of 27.4 cu-ft as well that increases to 116.7 cu-ft at max. Apart from this, the other high tech-ends like the 360 Surround Camera and Head-Up Display can also be availed of with Convenience Group at $3,295.

Safety
9.0/10

"The Wagoneer also comes packed to the brim with luxe materials, a host of active safety features, and a cutting-edge infotainment system." - cars.usnews

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer has not received any safety rating from the NHTSA and IIHS yet. However, it is based on the same RAM DT platform as that of the RAM 1500 meaning a 5-star NHTSA and a "Good" IIHS rating are going to be inherent. The other safety features to complement this structural integrity includes the names such as:

  • Active Lane-Management System
  • Blind-Spot and Rear Cross-Path Detection
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Full-Speed Forward-Collision Warning Plus
  • Adaptive Cruise Control

Competition
8.0/10

2022 Jeep Wagoneer vs 2022 Nissan Armada

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer comes with a far better range coverage over the Nissan Armada but that takes a toll on its performance curve. As a result, Armada outclasses the Wagoneer in acceleration and top speed parameters. In terms of spaciousness, the Wagoneer offers impressive interior space and cargo volume that remains missing in the Armada. Therefore, Jeep gets the preference here.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer vs 2022 Ford Expedition

The 2022 Ford Expedition is a performance phenomenon when pitted against the Wagoneer but it lacks range practicality at the same time. Even seating roominess and space management in the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer takes an edge over the former. On the whole, the Wagoneer appears to be a better proposition.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer vs 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe has better cargo space inside the cabin but except for that, it lags behind the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer in every section. Be it performance or range coverage or interior accent and trim, the Wagooner is simply way ahead of the Tahoe. Hence, the Jeep should be given consideration in the first place.

Final Verdict

Without a doubt, the coming 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is an asset in terms of its abilities, performance, off-road touches, and interior engagement. The exterior appeal is simply in line with what is being offered inside and around the cabin. Though it is price a little higher than its rivals but that extra investment is surely worth it.
