The engine on the offer on the 2019 Infiniti QX60 remains just the one 3.5L naturally aspirated V6. As far as its performance goes, it sits in the middle of the 7-seater crossover segment. Infiniti has built the QX60 in such a way that it mends its way through the cities and highways with agility but remains calm and composed otherwise. It doesn’t produce heaps of power but it is enough to maneuver a car of its dimensions, easily.
The 2019 Infiniti QX60’s horsepower is rated at 290hp and it is the most torquey vehicle churning out 270lb.-ft. The CVT is the only transmission option available. CVT’s are generally swift, giving the car a smooth and quiet acceleration and this is exactly what happens with the QX60 as well. The upshifts and downshifts are smooth and are timed very well. However, it takes away the thrill and engaging driving experience. Both the trims are available in the AWD option with an FWD drivetrain fitted as standard. We feel that the AWD that bears a $2,000 premium, adds a bit more excitement to the driving experience but it affects the fuel economy a bit.
The 2019 Infiniti QX60 sprints from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds, which is also the segment standard. However, it clocks 16 seconds to the quarter-mile mark, making it the slowest SUV in the segment.

All the cars mentioned above have a V6 engine as standard and have almost identical displacements. The 2019 Buick Enclave’s engine produces over 300 horses but it’s still not the fastest. The 2019 Acura MDX is the fastest off the line to 60mph. It takes only 6.3 seconds to achieve that and it completes a quarter-mile in 14.8 seconds, which in all seriousness is impressive for a 7-seater. While the 2019 Lexus RX350L and Buick have similar timings as the Infiniti in the acceleration test, they take a notable lead in the quarter-mile run.
How well does the 2019 Infiniti QX60 handle?
The steering doesn’t exactly have a great feel to it. It feels like the wheels are trying hard to respond to the steering input which results in a slight lag. There’s lots and lots of body roll. The strut-type front and multi-link rear type suspension are not able to do their job properly. However the car with its full capacity, the suspension performs much better.
The AWD option improves the ride quality by a certain factor but its off-road performance is subpar. We recommend you rather stay on-road. With the CVT, the car is fairly easy to handle. Being a car of big proportions, it is difficult to navigate through tight corners. While you expect an SUV in its segment to be off-road friendly, the 2019 Infiniti QX60 fails to impress with its capabilities and is something that the brand can work on with the upcoming models.
Braking Performance
The brakes on the 2019 Infiniti QX60 play a major role in terms of safety. With automatic emergency braking now as standard, it is safer than before. Both the brake rotors are 12+ inches, 12.6, and 12.1 inches at the front and rear to be precise. The response is persistently good, which is evident in its halting distance of 120ft when decelerating from the 60 MPH mark. Panic braking situations bring about nose dips but braking distances are better than most of its competitors in this segment.

The 2019 Acura MDX is the lightest of the 4 cars mentioned above which does help aid its performance and it takes 116ft when coming to a halt. Weight has a negative effect on the braking distance but the Infiniti still manages to do better than the 2019 Enclave that takes 134ft. While the Buick’s brake size is not yet known, the 2019 Lexus RX350L sports the largest rotors that measure 12.9 and 13.3 at the front and rear, respectively.
