Overview

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 is a proud member of the mid-size SUV segment, locking horns with cars like the Acura MDX, the Lexus RX 350, and the Audi Q7. Spread across 4 trims, the Infiniti QX60 starts off at a base price of MSRP $47,875 and carries on to $61,375. Its 3.5L V6 engine and 9-Speed Automatic transmission give the SUV 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. With that, it manages a 0-60 of 6.7 seconds and boasts a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. Moving to fuel economy, the Infiniti QX60 manages to get a combined fuel economy of 22 MPG, which is just average for the class, with most of its rivals reaching similar numbers. It also has a ground clearance of 6.7 inches.

Buying Advice

The base trim is a good starting point as it already comes packed with features. However, we should suggest stepping just a bit above and choosing the Luxe trim if you want all the bells and whistles including all the advanced driver aids from the ProPilot Assist package, ventilated front seats, and power-adjustable steering wheel, etc.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

For the 2023 model year, Infiniti QX60 keeps the changes minimal and leans forward with its already updated 9-speed automatic transmission, added features and equipment, and updated styling cues for the 2022 year. We expect the QX60 to be available for purchase in the same four trim levels starting off with the base price of MSRP $47,875 and going all the way up to MSRP $61,350 for the range-topping Autograph trim. The Infiniti QX60 SUV continues to lock horns with the Acura MDX, the Audi Q7, and the Volvo XC90.

Features
8.0/10

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 is offered in four trim levels starting off with an expected MSRP of $47,875 for the base Pure trim. Prices go up to an estimated MSRP of $61,350 for the Autograph trim. AWD happens to be optional throughout the trim lineup for an additional $2,000 ($2,900 for the Autograph). QX60 offers an impressive catalog of standard features which includes leather upholstery, Forward collision mitigation, Lane departure warning, Heated front seats with lumbar support, Panoramic moonroof, etc, which does well in justifying the MSRP it is available at.

We Recommend

Each trim of the 2023 Infiniti QX60 comes brings plenty of features and offerings to the table at the cost. Having said that, if you’re in the market looking for an SUV that has all the basic amenities along with some fancy ones, we recommend skipping the Pure and the Luxe trim. The Sensory trim costs an additional $9,475 and counts features like massaging front seats, air purifier, wireless charging, power third-row seatbacks, etc on top of everything standard on lower trims. This trim also features an optional Vision package for added convenience at an additional cost of $1,500.

Release Date

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 is expected to be released and hit the dealership floors in the fall 2022.

Fuel Economy
7.4/10

With no significant changes in the powertrain and outputs, the 2023 version of the QX60 is estimated to offer 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The combined fuel economy stays at a consistent 23 MPG. It’s worth noting that after the generation change, the overall highway driving range has reduced to 481 miles from 507 miles because of the reduction in the fuel tank size.

The Infiniti among the rivals puts out quite an impressive combined fuel economy numbers. To put things in perspective, the Deutsche and Japanese counterparts offer 22 MPG combined whereas the Volvo offers the best in class 25 MPG, all thanks to its mild hybrid powertrain. In city driving, the QX60 only falls 1 MPG short from the XC90 and gets 2 MPGs more than the Acura.

Interior
9.0/10

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 feels quite refreshed and airy on the inside and can be counted as one of its strengths. With enough cabin storage compartments, standard leather upholstery, heated steering and front seats, adjustable lumbar support at the front, and a capacity to seat 7 people, there isn't much that is left out from the standard package.

As one moves up the trim scale, the standard set of amenities swells considerably. If heated and ventilated front seats are desired, one has to skip the base and consider the second-in-line Luxe trim. Likewise, the range-topping Autograph is the only trim that offers second-row captain's chair seats with upgraded leather upholstery and a removable center console.

Evident from the dimensions given in the table, the Infiniti provides the most leg and headroom in the first row followed by the Audi. Things however take a turn for the second row where the QX60 offers 37.7 inches of legroom as opposed to 38.8 inches on the Q7 and 38.5 inches on the MDX. The third-row spacing as well doesn't favor the QX60 where it gets the least amount of legroom standing at 28 inches. Coming to cargo space, the Infiniti along with all the bells and whistles puts out a decent 14.5 cubic feet of cargo room. The Volvo stands last with its 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space as opposed to Acura's 18.1 cubic feet which is the best in class here.

Some of the key interior features available with the 2023 Infiniti QX60 include:

  • 8-way power-adjustable front seats with multi-level heating
  • Leather upholstery
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Panoramic moonroof

Some of the most notable infotainment features available with the 2023 Infiniti QX60 include:

  • Navigation system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
  • Satellite Radio
  • WiFi Hotspot
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • 17-speaker Bose audio system (standard on Sensory and Autograph)

Exterior
8.0/10

For the 2023 year, the QX60 hosts a same design and styling approach. With a major revamp in 2022, the Infiniti now looks even more distinctive than ever. The headlights of the SUV had been honed and the body lines were made more prominent. The Infiniti emblem as well has seen some shift in its position. From the yesteryear generation, the SUV now happens to be wider and taller, however, has shredded off 2 inches in the overall length.

The 2023 QX60 comes with a wheelbase of 114.2 inches, a standing height of 69.7 inches, and an overall height of 86.0 inches with side mirrors. The SUV weighs 4,393 and 4,555 pounds for the FWD and AWD models respectively. All things considered, the QX60 looks meaner and more aggressive than how it looked in its first generation.

The figures above speak for the Q7 and XC90 with their longer wheelbases which in turn helps in the straight-line stability. Also, worth noting is the least amount of ground clearance of the QX60 on offer which might not inspire confidence when driving over speed bumps or unpaved roads.

Some standout exterior features include:

  • 18-inch wheels (20-inch on Luxe and above)
  • Hands-free power-opening rear hatch (Sensory and above)
  • Black roof with black roof rails (Autograph)
  • Chrome plated fog lights

Safety
7.0/10

This generation of Infiniti QX60 is yet to be tested by the NHTSA however to ease the skepticism, it received an overall 5-star rating for the 2020 model year. The IIHS on the other hand has rated the 2022 model year “Good” for all of its parameters which not to mention make the 2023 model look promising in the safety department.

Some of the safety features include:

  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rear automatic braking
  • Forward collision mitigation
  • Adaptive cruise control (Luxe and above)
  • Lane-keeping system (Luxe and above)

Competition

2023 Infiniti QX60 vs 2023 Audi Q7

With almost a difference of $10k, the 2023 Audi Q7, no brainer is a more driver-centric SUV among the two. It beats the Infiniti head-on in acceleration and quarter-mile runs here. The QX60 however serves well for what it’s made and delivers practicality and better fuel economy at a much more competitive price tag. Long story short, Q7 makes sense if you’re interested in something that yells performance in every rev. On the other hand, the QX60 makes good use of the price and looks promising enough for a family SUV with decent driving dynamics.

2023 Infiniti QX60 vs 2023 Acura MDX

Both SUVs not far from each other adopt a more opulent appeal inside out to lure buyers in. The 2023 Acura MDX rises above with more room for occupants in the second and third rows along with a cut above driving dynamics. Talking about the cargo space, the MDX happens to nail that just right and stays at the top of the segment there. Adding to this, MDX also happens to pack better brake bite with shorter braking distance and more ground clearance. However, the QX60 doesn’t lose it all and offers better fuel economy with more optional packages and equipment than its Japanese counterpart at quite an attractive price.

2023 Infiniti QX60 vs 2023 Volvo XC90

The 2023 Volvo XC90 being a dearer option among the two doesn’t practically have anything to bring to the table. It happens to be slower and lacks practical cargo room compared to its rivals. Things however turn around when it comes to fuel economy and third-row spacing. Volvo happens to offer the best in class fuel economy because of its mild-hybrid system. It also offers the most legroom in the third row in all four SUVs. Taking it just right, the QX60 appears inches above its Swedish counterpart because of its thrifty price tag and better driving dynamics. However, if the driver's assistance, comfort, and convenience are in question, the XC90 is a pretty good option in this segment.

Final Verdict

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 wraps up the competition with its most competitive price tag and a decent set of standard features and equipment. The QX60 doesn’t lag in the driving performance as well however there are rivals that outmatch the Japanese SUV effortlessly. Putting things in an uncomplicated manner, the QX60 offers a perfect blend of everything put in just the right proportions. Likewise, the Acura has it all however proves to be improvident when it comes to fuel economy. The Audi makes most sense if driving dynamics and performance are your key requirements. The Volvo should be a bonzer proposition for fuel consumption, better bells and whistles, and towing capabilities.
