Overview

Infiniti is enthroned for its meticulous design, visceral power, and a suite of innovative driving technologies that makes it a perfect blend for a compact premium sedan. The Q50 is essentially the same vehicle that debuted in the year 2014, unlike the majority of its rivals, which have undergone recent redesigns. Additionally, Infiniti offers comfortable seating pleasure, a plethora of standard features, and a powerful engine.

Buying Advice

The Infiniti Q50 comes in three different trim levels, however, we will recommend the base Luxe trim. It offers the same engine as the more expensive Sensory trim and nevertheless offers a long list of desirable features and upscale furnishings. Additionally, it offers remote start, heated front seats and steering wheel, and other driver assistance features.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The Infiniti Q50 has kept the revisions modest. The base Luxe trim now has a saddle brown upholstery option, while the Sensory trim, which sits in the middle, now offers an illuminated Infiniti grille symbol. The new and exciting Infiniti Q50 will be available in three different trims: Luxe, Sensory, and Red Sport 400. The starting MSRP of the base Luxe trim is placed at $42,650 which can range up to $58,500. In this segment, the Infiniti Q50 will always face the likes of the Audi A3, the Acura TLX, and the Lexus IS 350.

Features
6.0/10

The Infiniti Q50 comes in three different trim levels that are Luxe, Sensory, and Red Sport 400. All of these different trims come equipped with an RWD drivetrain as standard. However, an optional AWD drivetrain is also offered in these different trims. This year, Infiniti upgrades the basic Q50 to include leather seats, Bose audio, and wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility. Upgraded Red Sport 400 trim levels that are more sensory and potent remain mostly intact. Although they have a more functional look, these sedans are near cousins of the Q60 coupe.

The 2023 Infiniti Q50 comes along with a standard list of specifications which are keyless entry and ignition, 18-inch alloy wheels, automated dual-zone climate control, a pair of touchscreens for the informational system, power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, heated steering wheel, and adaptive cruise control.

Release Date

The release date information hasn't been updated by the officials yet. However, the latest 2023 Infiniti Q50 is available on its official website to place orders. We believe that the new Infiniti Q50 will be available in local showrooms and at the dealership around the end quarter of 2022.

Fuel Economy
6.5/10

The 2023 Infiniti Q50 isn't exactly a fuel-efficient vehicle. According to EPA, the base Luxe trim offers 20 MPG in the city, 29 MPG on the highway, and 23 MPG combined. However, the Red Sport 400 trim with a decrease of 3 mpg on the highway and a 1 mpg decrease in combined cycles. The all-new Q50 also offers a huge fuel tank capacity of 20 gallons capacity.

Audi A3 offers a better fuel efficiency than most of its rivals do with a 29 MPG gas mileage in the city, 38 MPG on the highway and 32 MPG combined. However, with such exceptional fuel economy, it lurks at the bottom of the table with a 13.2-gallon fuel tank capacity. On the other hand, the Infiniti Q50 provides the highest fuel tank capacity at 20 gallons. Infiniti Q50 also provides a terrific range with a maximum of 580 miles on the highway so that you don’t need to stop at gas stations frequently. On the other hand, the Lexus IS 350 is placed at the bottom of the table with the overall range statistics. When comparing the mileage statistics of all the adversaries we can say that the Audi A3 is a better fuel-efficient option available in this range.

Interior
6.0/10

Although Infiniti presents itself as a luxury brand, the Q50's interior never quite feels that way, even on the most costly variants. Also starting to seem stale with the interior package. The Q50's front seats and steering wheel feature lots of flexibility, allowing you to find a comfortable position for yourself and your front passengers. Taller rear passengers should take care when boarding the vehicle with their heads and feet. Due to the Q50's thin roof pillars, visibility out the front and sides is greater than usual, but the view to the rear is hampered by the small back window and high trunk lid.

Infiniti Q50 is almost the same size as its rivals, but it has a lower cargo capacity and fewer functional cubbies inside. The Infiniti may be a comfy highway cruiser, but it's not made for extended family outings. Q50 offers a standard moonroof feature and wide outside visibility that lets in the right amount of daylight. It also comes equipped with a leather-appointed seating upholstery that maintains its softness and breathability in hot and cold weather conditions. It also offers a dual-zone automatic climate control system that can maintain different preferred temperatures automatically and a microfilter traps the pollen and traffic fumes before it enters the cabin.

Infiniti Q50 offers equivalent competition in terms of interior specifications against its contemporaries. Both the Infiniti Q50 and the Acura TLX offer the largest cargo capacity that measuring a total of 13.5 cu-ft. On the other hand, the Lexus IS 350 ranks at the bottom of the table with a maximum of 10.8 cu-ft of cargo capacity. Infiniti Q50 can be fully loaded without worrying about damaging objects when you close the lid since the trunk hinges are located outside of the cargo space. On the other hand, the Acura TLX strikes a fantastic mix between flexibility and control on a variety of road conditions.

Some of the key interior features include

  • INFINITI intelligent key with a push button ignition.
  • Dual-zone automatic temperature control system with microfilter.
  • Power door locks with automatic locking feature.
  • Valet key and trunk lockout feature.
  • Sequential welcome lightning illuminated entry system with delayed fade-out.
  • Front armrest with storage compartment, two 12-volt power outlets, auxiliary input jacks, and two USB connection ports.

How intuitive is the 2023 Infiniti Q50 Infotainment system?

The 2023 Infiniti Q50's dual-screen infotainment system is out of date in comparison to more contemporary competitors, but it does allow for more modular use by allowing different applications to be shown on either the upper or lower screen. However, the dual-screen infotainment system is a jumble of inconsistent fonts, resolutions, and menus that would confuse most customers used to well-integrated electronics.

The system does offer quick reaction times, and the typefaces on both screens are the same. The Q50's wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto may be used with up to seven devices when connected to its Wi-Fi hotspot.

Some of the salient key infotainment features include

  • A 8-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touch-screen.
  • 16-speaker Bose premium audio system.
  • SiriusXM radio with advanced audio features with a 3-month complimentary trial.
  • INFINITI in-touch services with wifi hotspot.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay integration.
  • 1 type-C and 1 type-A illuminated USB connection ports.

Exterior
6.0/10

Infiniti Q50 offer a perfect combination of an outrageous assertive posture and exuberant look. The sporty appearance of the Q50 is characterized by slender lines and soft edges. From every perspective, this beauty is stunning and always turns heads. Multi-mode jewel-encrusted headlights that are enhanced by artistic LED daytime running lights are the epitome of eye delight. Infiniti Q50's dramatic stance and stunning aerodynamic profile are enhanced by a sculpted, elegant front fascia. Along with that, it is the athletic member of the family, with broad shoulders and a poised low-wide-swept posture. The largest differences are often found in the simplest things. Consider the elegant crescent design of the Infiniti Q50 as it increases the outside for both the driver and the passengers.

Lexus IS 350 offers a better ground clearance with 5.5 inches that offers better drive performance and makes it easier to drive on rough and uphill terrain. However, the lack of statistics on the ground clearance puts the Infiniti Q50 on the second number with 5.1 inches of ground clearance. One of the better size wheelbases can be seen in the Acura TLX which measures 113-inch, Second on the list comes the Infiniti Q50 which has a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. The Audi A3 lurks at the bottom of the table with a wheelbase of 103.5 inches. Additionally, better exterior dimensions are provided in the Acura TLX with a height of 194.6 inches, 75.2 inches in width, and 56.4 inches in height respectively.

Some of the salient key-exterior features include

  • Power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch auto-open/close, tilt-feature, and sliding sunshade.
  • LED rear brake lights and a center high-mounted spotlight.
  • Remote power opening of windows using INFINITI intelligent key.
  • Automatic on/off headlights with daytime running flights.

Some of the key safety features include

  • Forward collision mitigation.
  • Lane departure warning.
  • Forward emergency braking.
  • Blind-spot monitor.
  • Auto-dimming rearview mirror.
  • Adaptive cruise control.

Competition

2023 Infiniti Q50 vs 2022 Audi A3

Audi is a top-rated luxury car brand that entirely revised the A3 for the year 2022. It is significantly more efficient and more reasonably priced while being smaller. The 2022 Audi A3 is more enjoyable to drive, has a more pleasant ride, and has better technology. Additionally, it offers a comfortable ride with a user-friendly infotainment system and a par fuel economy.

On the other hand, the 2023 Infiniti Q50 offers more space for the passengers and the cargo space is also prominent when compared to the 2022 Audi A3. Additionally, the engine performance is highly dominant in the 2023 Infiniti Q50 trims along with a better 0 to 60 MPH acceleration and quarter-mile time duration measured in seconds. Like the Audi A3, the INFINITI Q50 makes an impression with its appearance, but it is clear that the Q50 outperforms the A3 in terms of engine performance and safety features.

2023 Infiniti Q50 vs 2022 Acura TLX

Thanks to its latest 2021 update, the 2022 Acura TLX is a more contemporary luxury car. Even while it isn't as powerful as the 2023 Infiniti Q50, it compensates with greater technology and a more pleasant driving experience. With a reduced starting price and a broad list of standard amenities, including a complete complement of cutting-edge driver aids, the 2022 Acura TLX is also more affordable.

The 2023 Infiniti Q50 offers front and rear disc brakes that are ventilated as standard, which helps to disperse heat for quicker stops with less fade. The 2022 Acura TLX has solid, not vented, rear discs. Additionally, it offers a list of more potent features, more power, better warranty coverage, and tailored craftsmanship that makes it a better choice among the two.

2023 Infiniti Q50 vs 2022 Lexus IS 350

Both of these luxury sport sedans debuted back in 2014 for the model year. In comparison to the 2023 Infiniti Q50, the 2022 Lexus IS 350 provides greater handling, a more pleasant interior, and a better infotainment system. Additionally, the sleek look of the Lexus makes it more recognizable. The spherical rev-counter splits to expose another screen that shows either the radio controls or the navigation at the touch of a button on the steering wheel.

On the other hand, the 2023 Infiniti Q50 offers rounded LED headlights as the final touch on its chrome-rimmed grille, it is the more elegant of the two vehicles. Its subdued lines give off an air of elegance and refinement. Along with that, you can protect your belongings easily with the huge storage bin in the center console and the additional spacious storage space in front of the shifter.

Final Verdict

Yes, we recommend the 2023 Infiniti Q50 over its competition as when compared to other entry-level luxury automobiles, it offers more power and standard equipment for the money. Additionally, it offers a large fuel-tank capacity and uses high upscale quality materials in seating that provides a relaxing and calm drive. With ample cargo space and an extravagant exterior, it also falls on the list of top 10 compact luxury sedans making it difficult to match.
