Fuel Economy
6.2/10

Due to its hybrid configuration, the new Sequoia is considerably more effective than the outgoing model. According to the EPA, the RWD offers a mileage estimate of 21 MPG in the city, 24 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined. However, if you opt for the four-wheel drivetrain option drop these mileage numbers a bit with 19 MPG in the city, 22 MPG on the highway, and 20 MPG combined. Furthermore, all the different trims options come with a fuel tank capacity of 22.5 gallons.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia outperforms its adversaries with a much better mileage of 21 MPG in the city, 24 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined. Furthermore, it offers a range of 540 miles on the highway making sure that you don't have to unnecessarily disrupt your journey worrying about refilling it again. On the other hand, the 2022 Nissan Armada offers a much better fuel tank capacity of 26 gallons than its adversaries. While comparing all the statistics in mind, we can say that the 2023 Toyota Sequoia offers the best fuel economy of its rivals in its class.

Interior
6.2/10

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia receives a fresh-looking interior and a major tech upgrade against the old outdated design also this latest version of Sequoia maintains its spacious cabin and adds a third row of seats as standard. The Sequoia can accommodate up to eight passengers, however, there are Captain's seats that may be used to limit that number to seven. Though it can slide up to 5.5 inches in the third row, it's best left to kids. The third row's inability to fold flat is a bigger problem. However, the front seats are cosy, roomy, and offer a commanding perspective of the road in front of you and it comes with heated front seats and cloth upholstery as standard. Even though the seat cushions in the second row are flatter and harder, it still has enough of room.

Upgrades include real leather upholstery, synthetic leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and a power-folding third row. Customers interested in a posh Sequoia will be delighted to learn about the new Capstone trim. It is the highest model in the series and adds distinctive features that give the interior a much more opulent feel.

Exterior
6.2/10

The 2023 Sequoia makes a strong impression from the exterior. With a wide mesh grille and LED running lights that divide along the fender in an illuminated brace, the Sequoia borrows design cues from the Tundra from the front. Its large blocky fenders and thick hood, which are also shared with the Tundra, give it a powerful character. Around town, though, its chrome window trim and roof rails give it an air of refinement.

The back is hugged by wrap-around taillights, and the back is smoothed by an integrated roof spoiler. Toyota increased the width of the doors for better access while some of its standard specifications include 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear mudguards, and a single exhaust tip.

Additionally, it offers better exterior dimensions with 210.7 inches in length, 81-inch in width, and 75.8 inches in height.

Competition

2023 Toyota Sequoia vs 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe

The Chevrolet has a narrower center console area that allows for more knee and thigh breadth which gives it a slight edge in terms of overall comfort. Both SUVs include 12.3-inch digital instrument panels but the Sequoia's 14-inch touchscreen display dwarfs the 2022 Chevy Tahoe’s 10.2-inch display. The Tahoe boasts four total USB connections for second-row passengers (two USB-A, two USB-C), as well as an optional back entertainment system, making technology the big differentiator here, while the new Toyota Sequoia offers only two ports and no entertainment system is available.

2023 Toyota Sequoia vs 2022 Ford Expedition

With hybrid power and a cutting-edge tech-filled cabin, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia will launch this competent SUV's much-needed third generation. The 2018-released fifth-generation update is still the foundation for the 2022 Ford Expedition while the 2023 Ford Expedition will also be a carryover model. The price, mechanical heft, and trim level flexibility of the Ford Expedition have all been improved. However, Toyota captures our interest with the Sequoia's hybrid power, improved MPG ratings, sexier aesthetics, and logical interior design.

2023 Toyota Sequoia vs 2022 Nissan Armada

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia offers amazing capabilities, a large cabin, and a host of cutting-edge technology including cutting-edge driver assistance systems and a standard hybrid engine. On the other hand, the Nissan Armada offers much better comfort and space in the front headroom and legroom when compared to its counterpart. However, the new Toyota Sequoia offers a better seating capacity to chauffeur passengers and a better engine performance which makes it a clear winner.

Final Verdict

Yes, we recommend the 2023 Toyota Sequoia as it offers an unmatched engine performance, sophisticated and bold styling, while the redesign takes it closer to its large SUV competitors and makes it count in the top-10 SUVs recommended for the year 2023.
