Spread across 3 trims, the Xterra starts off at a base price of MSRP $23,390 and carries on to $30,320. However, there is only one powertrain on offer. The standard engine is a 4.0L V6 engine rated for 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. With this engine, the Xterra gives you a towing capacity of 5000 pounds. An optional 6 speed manual transmission is offered in S and PRO-4X trims.

Buying Advice

The top-level PRO-4X trim is not very expensive from the base trim and gets all the upgrades such as electronic locking rear differential, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, Bilstein shock absorbers, and upgraded off-road tires to make it an adept off-roading vehicle. Other than that, it also boasts a lot of creature comforts for improved safety and comfort levels.
