Overview

Among compact and reasonably priced sedans, the 2023 Nissan Sentra is a seductive alternative. The Nissan Sentra offers a tonne of amenities for the money and is packed with cutting-edge safety technology, as is the case with many vehicles in its class. Now in its eighth generation, it embraces modernity in its most ideal form. With incredibly comfy seats, a stylish dash design, soft-touch materials, and contrast stitching details, the Sentra's interior is one of the best in its class.

Buying Advice

We will recommend the SV trim which costs only approximately $1000 more than the base model and lucrative sports features justifying its price tag including a bigger 8.0-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, and automated dual-zone temperature control. Additionally, the SV Premium option is another upgrade we will add as it offers 17-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats, quilted leather upholstery, a leather shift knob, and a sunroof.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

There are no significant changes expected for the 2023 Nissan Sentra it is likely to be a carryover model of the Nissan Sentra 2022 while it is a part of the eighth generation that has been introduced in the year 2020. The Nissan Sentra for the model year 2023 is expected to continue the brand’s current structure that offers three trims which are S, SV, and SR. Although the official cost for the 2023 Sentra has not yet been disclosed, we anticipate that Nissan may raise its price due to inflation and it may start around an expected MSRP of $20,000 that can range up to $23,000. In this segment, it will continue to compete against the likes of the Honda Civic, the Mazda 3, and the Hyundai Elantra.

Features
7.0/10

The Sentra is a compact sedan that continues to be stylish, and comfortable while the 2023 model will be most likely a carryover model and will retain its trim to the present iteration that are S, SV, and SR. Nissan provides all the Sentra models with a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and three-year/36,000-mile roadside assistance as far as warranty coverage goes. The base trim consists of a set of potent features and specifications including a push-button start, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth seat trim, one USB-A port, and keyless entry.

Release Date

Although Nissan hasn't provided an official release date for the 2023 Sentra, we anticipate that it will be on sale around the third quarter of 2022. The new Sentra could not be released until the fourth quarter of the year due to the continued chip scarcity.

Fuel Economy
4.0/10

Since it is a carryover model, the EPA estimates are similar to the 2022 Nissan Sentra, the Sentra offers a mileage of 29 MPG in the city, 39 MPG on the highway, and 33 MPG combined. It also offers a fuel tank capacity of 14.2 gallons in its class, although some of its rivals score a few miles per gallon it is still an efficient small sedan.

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra outperforms its adversaries with a much better fuel economy that offers a mileage of 33 MPG in the city, 43 MPG on the highway, and 37 MPG combined. Furthermore, it offers a range of 533 miles on the highway so you can indulge in the ride comfort without worrying about refilling gas. On the other hand, the 2022 Mazda 3 offers a better fuel tank capacity of 13.2 gallons when compared to its adversaries. While comparing all the statistics, we can say that the 2022 Hyundai Elantra is a better fuel-efficient vehicle than its rivals.

Interior
6.0/10

Inside the Sentra, especially in the entry-level variants, budget-car styling is back in style. The inside is far from a gloomy study hall, especially with the basic-black décor and there are sufficient soft-touch materials to prevent it from appearing cheap even the stand-up touchscreen in the middle of the dash doesn't obstruct the view of the road ahead. The Sentra has five seats, cloth upholstery, and a rear-seat reminder as standard equipment. There are options for heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, and premium cloth upholstery.

Both rows of seats include roomy, supportive, and comfy seats. Although there is greater headroom in the front than the rear, adults may comfortably sit in either row. The Sentra's 14.3 cubic feet of trunk capacity is a tad little for a compact car although the broad aperture is positive, and the folded rear seats are a few inches over the trunk floor.

The trunk space of the 2022 Civic sedan is a respectable 14.8 cubic feet, which is decent for the compact vehicle segment. The rear tire wells and other obstructions don't interfere with the trunk's ability to open completely. On the other hand, the 2023 Nissan Sentra offers sufficient legroom and room for your feet under the front seats, back passengers should have no problem feeling comfortable.

Some of the key interior features include

  • Remote keyless entry with push-button ignition.
  • Cloth seat trim.
  • 4-way adjustable front passenger seat.
  • Rear door alert.
  • 60/40 2nd row split-folding seatback.
  • Automatic power windows for the driver.

How intuitive is the 2023 Nissan Sentra Infotainment system?

Each Sentra's dashboard is dominated by a touchscreen, which is complemented by physical volume and tuning knobs while the infotainment responds a little slow and the graphics looks outdated. The base model comes equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay integration as standard.

Some of its key infotainment features include

  • 7.0-inch touchscreen.
  • A 4.2-inch Advanced driver assist display.
  • A four-speaker stereo.
  • Bluetooth hands-free phone system.
  • One USB-A port.
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

Exterior
6.0/10

The rear roof pillars of the Sentra have the same black cat-eye decoration. The third time around, that approach has lost some of its surprises but is still really appealing and gives the Sentra a longer, more opulent form. It was clever the first time through and fine the second. Nissan made a wise decision to avoid overpowering the rest of the car with unnecessary embellishments. The back and that black trim with its floating-canopy impression are both highlighted by thin LED headlamps that draw attention there. Some of its standard specifications include 16-inch Steel wheels with full wheel covers, halogen headlights, and active grille shutters.

Safety
6.0/10

Nissan includes a tonne of driver aid technologies as standard in this compact sedan that continues to be the same for the 2023 Sentra including Nissan advanced airbag system, rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and lane keeping assist. Neither the NHTSA nor the IIHTS organization has fully tested the 2023 Nissan Sentra yet, however, the 2022 Sentra received the highest rating of Good in all six crash tests from the IIHS while the NHTSA received an overall five-star rating.

Some of its key safety features include

  • Driver and front-passenger supplemental knee airbags.
  • Lane departure warning.

Competition

2023 Nissan Sentra vs 2022 Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is the best vehicle available in its class for compact sedans. The Civic takes the lead thanks to its impressive all-around performance, spacious trunk, and respectable fuel efficiency projections. The Civic significantly surpasses the Nissan Sentra and has much higher fuel ratings than the Sentra thanks to its turbocharged engine.

2023 Nissan Sentra vs 2022 Mazda 3

The Mazda 3 outperforms the Nissan Sentra in terms of performance. Customers of the Mazda 3 can choose between an all-wheel drive system for better traction or a front-wheel drive system. The Sentra, in contrast, only has a front-wheel drive arrangement. The Mazda 3 has the edge in terms of safety and can be preferred over its counterpart.

2023 Nissan Sentra vs 2022 Hyundai Elantra

When it comes to value for the money, the Hyundai Elantra beats the Sentra. The Elantra has an edge because of its stronger warranty coverage, higher fuel efficiency, and user-friendly infotainment system. It also offers a smooth ride, an extensive list of standard amenities is a touch more fuel-efficient, and has more rear legroom than the Sentra.

Final Verdict

Yes, we recommend the 2023 Nissan Sentra as it had a recent revamp and it has an expressive look and a comfy interior that make it a good compact sedan option enlisted in the top-five sedans recommended for the year 2023.

              Great vehicle

Pros - ["Gas saver very great on gas best I've ever dealt with", "Cold ac AC gets really icy cold"]

Cons - ["SMALL SPACE if your a bigger person is in r recommend you not getting it", "Nothing else that I really dislike about this vehicle I love everything about it"]

I love my vehicle it rides so so smooth it's a great gas saver I just hate how small it is it is definitely reliable and id refer a small family to utilize what this vehicle has to offer all day it's very worth every dollar

Forale Clarke 22' Nissan Sentra color Super Blacc

Pros - ["Very fast response ring time", "The color is the car and heated seats"]

Cons - ["The sport button is really just the over drive only it doesn't seem to come with engine to dd", "Wish they made a standard option with a 5 speed or 8 speed dual clutch or 12 speed dual clutch transmission"]

Love the car just wish it actually had a sport option not just an overdrive feature.... And hate the fact that not a lot of manufacturers make standard transmissions anymore it's almost like a sin anymore I swear
