Overview

The 2018 Hyundai Accent Sedan is a subcompact sedan offered in 3 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $14,995. It mainly competes with the Chevrolet Sonic Sedan, the Kia Rio Sedan, and the Nissan Versa for that price. Between 3 trims, the Accent offers just one powertrain option. It is a 1.6L inline 4 engine making 130 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque. However, there is a choice between a 6-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual transmission on the base trim. The higher trims come standard with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The Accent reaches 60 MPH from zero in 8.5 seconds and can manage a combined fuel economy of 32 MPG. While we're on the topic of choices, the 7 striking colors the Accent comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

If you fancy driving the 2018 Hyundai Accent as your next car, you probably would want to go with the mid-tier SEL trim. This is because this trim justifies the price tag with its standard heated side mirrors, rear disc brakes, 7-inch touchscreen, etc. There isn’t much to opt in when it comes to optional packages and equipment though.

Hyundai Accent: Reliable, Affordable, and An Easy Ride.

Pros - ["The car is great on gas and I have gotten up to 43 miles mpg. Your average mile range after filling up is between 350-400.", "The car drives smooth and handles well. Even though it is a compact sedan, the car withstands weather conditions, road conditions, and other drivers as well."]

Cons - ["The car can go through oil more than other sedans similar in size and makeup.", "The car's seats are not accommodating for people over 6 foot tall. It is a compact sedan and that has to be considered if you are 6 foot and up."]

My Hyundai Accent has proved to be reliable, affordable, and an overall easy ride in more than a few ways. From buying my Accent with 14k miles on it and currently having 78k on it, it has had no major issues. Other than regular maintenance (brakes, rotors, tires, oil changes), I've had a recall fixed. Another way the Accent screams reliability is the miles per gallon. At it's best, I've gotten m...

              Great little car

Pros - ["gas mileage is great", "very dependable"]

Cons - ["kind of smaller inside than I would prefer", "closed transmission system, can't check/change fluid"]

Has a lot of get up n go when you need power it's there. We tend to average about 38 mpg because we do mainly highway driving. Interior is nice, and easy to clean and maintain. We've had no problems with it in the 2 years we've owned it.

              This is my car

Pros - ["Good mileage", "Serious xm radio", "Control over headlights"]

Cons - ["Too compact", "Not a hatchback", "Don't care for the color"]

My car was not picked by myself. I don't care for the low front bumper. If I won the lottery I would pay this car off and trade it in for another. I wish it had more features. Such as a back up camera and a hatchback.
