When it comes to interior space, the Jetta shines- Edmunds
2018 Volkswagen Jetta Seating and Comfort
The interior of the Volkswagen has a clean layout but the materials lack quality and give out a cheap feeling. This five-seater comes standard with cloth upholstery while the rest of the trims get leatherette seats. The front seats are comfortable and supportive. The seat bottoms are well-padded with soft cushions. The driver's seat is 6-way power-adjustable while both seats are heated except for the base S trim.
There is plenty of passenger space up front so full-grown adults can sit comfortably. The rear seats stand out in the class as they are spacious and can tuck in adults with comfort. The recline angle isn't too upright which makes for a good seating position. The legroom is a bit less than its rivals but adults can sit comfortably. On the other hand, headroom is on par with its rivals. A moonroof is available from SE trim and above.

The Toyota Corolla offers the best legroom in the rear row but its interiors feel cheap like the Jetta. The Chevy Cruze's rear-row space is kind of less but its standard features list is impressive. On the other hand, the Honda Civic offers decent space in both rows while its interiors are comfortable.
2018 Volkswagen Jetta Infotainment System
The S and new Wolfburg Edition trim come with a 5-inch touchscreen display that supports auxiliary audio input, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and a single-disc CD player. The rest of the models get a larger 6.3-inch touchscreen that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both the screens have good touch responses and the graphics are crisp.
A 4-speaker stereo handles the sound souties on lower trims but higher trim owners will like the sound quality of the 8-speaker Fender premium audio system. The top-spec SEL trim also adds a voice-recognition navigation system that works just fine. Unfortunately, the larger screen does not support smartphone gestures like pinch-to-zoom.

2018 Volkswagen Jetta Cargo Capacity
The Volkswagen Jetta offers a trunk volume of 15.7 cubic feet, which is one of the largest in its class. If you need more space, the rear seats split in a 60/40 fashion so you can store long items. The Jetta also benefits from low liftover height, making it easy for owners to load heavy items into the trunk.
However, the trunk opening is small. That means it can be tough if you want to load large suitcases into the cargo area. The Jetta also offers decent interior storage too. The glovebox is decently sized and on the top-end SEL trim, it is exclusively cooled. The door pockets are small and the center cubby storage is too shallow.

The Honda Civic is the only sedan that can match the Jetta's trunk volume. Also, it has a wide opening, unlike the Jetta. The Chevrolet Cruze's trunk offers a decent space for a small sedan but the Toyota Corolla offers the least cargo space in this segment. Therefore, for those who think cargo space is their top-most priority, the Jetta is the best option.
