The regular unleaded 1.6L I4 engine makes 120 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque for all the models available. The car offers only a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system and it pairs with only available Continous variable transmission (CVT). The engine feels unrefined and weak at high rpm. The Accent is not designed for performance and that's why it completes 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds which is – an average timing for a compact sedan. The fuel economy is better than many of the key competitors – 33 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highways, and 36 mpg combined.

The newest Kia Rio is the most affordable vehicle in the segment. With a mere price hike, the 2022 Hyundai Accent is the car that offers the best performance figures. The 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 carries the tag of the most expensive car but offers the most underrated engine and power figures on the table. The Nissan Versa offers the highest power and amount of torque at least rpm. All the cars are only front-wheel-driven. The 2023 Mirage G4 has the lowest top speed.
2023 Hyundai Accent Ride and Handling
The ride quality of the new 2023 Accent is decent and comfortable looking to its price. The steering column is firm to use but sometimes gets too heavy – responsiveness is nice. The Limited trim gets it with leather wrapping. The driving experience is normal like any other car in the price range. Handling is satisfactory as it remains calm and composed on turns. Except for the normal, there is only a sports mode that motivates the car to steer reasonably quickly. Equipped with strut suspension for the front that – enhances vehicle control when you turn, brake, accelerate, or encounter uneven road surfaces. The Torsion-Beam suspensions in the rear. It has a turning diameter of 33.5 ft. SE and the SEL trims get
P185/65HR15 tire sizes– the limited model is equipped with P205/45HR17.
2023 Hyundai Accent Braking Performance
Carrying with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) for all four tires, the wheels get protection from locking up during an emergency stop. The ABS enables the driver to retain steering control and maintain directional stability by automatically pumping the brakes–when a sudden brake is detected. The Hyundai offers a Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) to prevent the car from accidentally rolling backward on very steep roads – whenever a brake padel is released. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) applies braking power automatically to individual wheels to counter oversteer or understeer. The brake pedal is nice and solid.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is the lightest car of all. It acquires the shortest brake calipers but stops the fastest. The new Kia Rio has the highest curb weight and the highest braking distance. Based on the new Accent's braking distance, an educated guess suggests its rear caliper will be the same size as the Rio's.
