Overview

Cars like the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Hatchback might not be able to give you the direct benefits one might expect from its hybrid powertrain. However, its use must not be overlooked. The 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid uses its 1.6L Inline-4 and a single motor hybrid system and a 1.6 kWh battery to produce 139 horsepower. This gives the Ioniq Hybrid a 0-60 of 8.7 seconds. The hybrid engine here is to support the gasoline engine to boost performance and offer slightly better fuel economy than what a single gasoline engine would be capable of. That said, the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid achieves a combined fuel economy of 58 MPG. As part of the compact hatchback, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid competes with the Honda Insight Hybrid and the Toyota Prius Hybrid. It offers three trim levels with a base MSRP of $22,400.

Buying Advice

Among the three trims available, the mid-SEL trim offers plenty of features yet is not very expensive when compared to the base trim. It also gets a new paddle shifter for 2018. The heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome interior, and exterior accents, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure, mitigation system, and quite a few more.
