The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV is a versatile vehicle that has stood the test of time. This SUV has been a favorite among families and adventure enthusiasts for years, and its reliability and functionality have made it a popular choice in the automotive market. The 2010 Explorer is available in three different trims, each offering unique features and capabilities. The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV competes with other midsize SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner, Chevrolet Traverse, and Honda Pilot. While each of these vehicles has its strengths, the Explorer stands out for its powerful engine options, impressive handling, and versatile interior.

The base trim of the 2010 Ford Explorer is the XLT. This trim level comes with a 4.0-liter V6 engine, producing 210 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque. The next step up is the Eddie Bauer trim, which features additional luxury amenities like heated front seats, a premium audio system, and leather upholstery. The top-of-the-line Limited trim comes with a 4.6-liter V8 engine, which produces 292 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque.

The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV offers impressive performance and handling, thanks to its powerful engine options and advanced suspension system. The V6 engine provides ample power for daily driving, while the V8 engine delivers a thrilling driving experience with its acceleration and handling capabilities. The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV is not known for its fuel efficiency, but it does offer respectable fuel economy for a vehicle of its size and power. The V6 engine gets an estimated 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, while the V8 engine gets an estimated 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV has a spacious and comfortable interior, with plenty of room for passengers and cargo. The cabin features high-quality materials and a well-designed dashboard with intuitive controls. The exterior of the Explorer has a rugged, yet refined look, with a bold front grille and sleek lines that give it a modern and stylish appearance.

The 2010 Ford Explorer SUV has a solid safety record, with a range of advanced safety features to protect passengers and prevent accidents. These features include antilock brakes, stability control, and front and side airbags. With its range of engine options, advanced safety features, and comfortable interior, the Explorer is a great choice for anyone in the market for a midsize SUV.

Buying Advice

We believe that it's worth spending the extra pennies for the top-of-the-line Limited trim as it offers the potent V8 with oodles of torque. It is also recommended to get the 2010 Ford Explorer with the 4WD configuration as the SUV seems to have a good knack when it comes to shredding through tough patches. Features like the sync multimedia system and the power-folding third-row seats are worth mentioning as they make owning the SUV much more convenient.

              SUV of the century

Pros - ["Reliable car", "Roomy vehicle"]

Cons - ["Nothing at all", "Nothing at all"]

I owned five Explorers and enjoyed each one a little more. First one was a 1995 XLT then 2 Eddie Bauers then 2 more XLts. I'd never buy another brand SUV I enjoyed owning every one. Usually I did a 2 year lease but owned 2 outright and the last one had a little over 100k
