Overview
Last updated back in 2020, the Ford Explorer carries forward unchanged this year as Ford promises to give this popular SUV an overhaul for the 2025 model year. The 2024 Ford Explorer was spotted testing undisguised sometime ago and it didn't look any different than the outgoing model because there aren't any changes at all. Check out the video below by "Ben Hardy" for a closer real-world look at the Explorer SUV.
Prices for the 2024 Explorer start at $36,760 excluding the $1,595 destination fee and is available for sale in 8 trim configurations. This means Ford has decided against hiking up the prices this year and we hope there won't be a nationwide recall as seen very recently. While the release date is yet to be announced, the 2024 model year Explorer is expected to hit the market by the end of 2023. The much-awaited next-generation Ford Explorer has been postponed and is expected to arrive by the summer of 2024.
Not all trims are built equal, however, as there are 2 powertrains on offer. The 2.3L turbocharged Inline-4 makes 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 makes 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains get an option for a 4WD drivetrain and there are plenty of creature comforts on offer inside its spacious cabin. All these aspects make it a formidable force in the mid-size SUV segment against the likes of Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Highlander.
