The 2024 Subaru Outback might look like an odd man out in the space of midsize SUVs. However, it offers much better off-road capability, cargo space, and comfort than most of the competition. Usually, Subaru cars are built to last at least a decade, and the 2024 Outback feels no different.
The 2024 Subaru Outback trim levels are Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Touring XT. The prices of these trims are $28,895, $31,195, $36,105, $35,795, $40,345, $39,360, $39,960, $40,195, and $42,795, respectively. However, an additional $1,295 would be charged as destination and delivery charges. The Outback 2024 Base can be leased or financed effortlessly.
The lease deal consists of 36 months with monthly payments of $410 and an annual mileage limit of 12,000 miles. The Outback can be financed for a low APR of 5.9% and a term of 60 months. The monthly payments would amount to $544, and the down payment would be $1,999. Subaru is also offering a $500 discount for active military personnel. The above-mentioned deals are for buyers with a credit score of 700 or more.
Under the hood of the Outback is a 2.5-liter flat-four engine making 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. The XT and Wilderness trims get the more powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a CVT. The 2024 Subaru Outback 0–60 time with the base engine is 8.6–8.8 seconds. With the turbo engine, the 0-60 time comes down to 5.8 seconds.
In the J.D. Power Consumer Rating, the 2024 Outback scored an overall 82/100, which is very good. For reliability and resale, it scored 80/100 and 86/100, respectively. For driving and dealership experience, it scored 77/100 and 87/100, respectively. The J.D. Consumer Rating clearly hints at the lower maintenance costs and lower cost-of-ownership.
