The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer is refreshed, looking sleeker and more modern. Even the interior of the Trailblazer is more tech-laden, with a bigger infotainment screen and a digital gauge cluster. However, the Trailblazer is not all glitz and glamour and no safety. Just last year, the Trailblazer received a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. What's not that great is its warranty coverage of 5 years and 60,000 miles on the powertrain, whereas some others, like the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Kona, offer 10 years and 100,000 miles of coverage for the same.
The 2024 Chevy Trailblazer is offered in four trim configurations: LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS. The prices of these trims are $23,100, $24,300, $27,100, and $27,100, respectively. Though both the ACTIV and RS bear the same price tag, they are built differently. The ACTIV is suited for mild off-roading with off-road tuned suspension and a functional skid plate. The RS, as the name suggests, is designed for sporty aesthetics and feel.
The Trailblazer can be financed for a term of 72 months for $388 per month at a low APR of 7.99%, along with $2,500 as a down payment. The same model can also be leased for a term of 36 months with monthly payments of $351 and a 10,000-mile annual limit. So, with all those options, the Trailblazer can be an enticing deal. However, there are two powertrain options: the base 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and the 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine.
The base engine is mediocre in performance, with 137 hp, and is mated to a CVT. However, the bigger engine is slightly better with 155 hp and can be mated to a more responsive 9-speed automatic transmission. The ACTIV and RS get the bigger engine as standard, while the remaining trims get it as optional. The Chevrolet Trailblazer can sprint from 0 to 60 in a matter of 9.3 seconds with the bigger powertrain.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy of the Trailblazer with AWD and a 9-speed automatic gearbox is 26 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined. According to J.D. Power Consumer Ratings, the previous model year scored 84/100, which is very good. For reliability and resale, it scored 84/100 and 83/100, respectively. For driving and dealership experience, it scored 83/100 and 85/100, respectively. The Trailblazer 2024 is expected to receive similar ratings. Stay tuned for a complete review.
