Fuel Economy
8.0/10

According to the EPA, the NX 350 Lexus 2022 that comes equipped with an AWD drivetrain achieves a mileage of 22 MPG in the city, 29 MPG on the highway, and 25 MPG combined. Additionally, it achieves a range of 421 miles on the highway with the help of its 14.5 gallons fuel tank capacity. We believe the Lexus should be able to match its EPA estimates the majority of the time because repeatability is considerably difficult to find in this class. The Lexus 350 NX needs premium gasoline, much like many other cars in its class.

In comparison, the 2022 Lexus NX 350 offers a mileage of 22 MPG in the city, 29 MPG on the highway, and 25 MPG combined, while it compensates with the least fuel tank capacity of 14.5 gallons that leads to a low range when compared to its adversaries, while on the other hand, the 2022 Genesis GV0 2.5T offers a range of 487 miles on the highway thanks to its high fuel tank capacity of 17.4 gallons in its class. When talking about efficiency the Lexus NX 350 2022 is better while we can say that the Genesis SUV 2022 is a good fuel-efficient option with the range and EPA numbers in its class.

Interior
7.5/10

For 2022, Lexus totally redesigned the NX 350's interior. It is entirely novel and distinctive. Along with the speedometer gauges, the vertical center panel has been replaced by a more traditional horizontal screen with a flowing style. Materials and quality have never been a problem for Lexus, and the NX 350 is no exception. The bulk of the inside is covered in gorgeous synthetic leather. Although the NX's back sitting space lacks spacious legroom, the driving position may be easily adjusted to fit a broad range of body shapes.

The driver gains an additional 1.8 inches of legroom and 0.9 inches of headroom, which nearly entirely benefits front passenger space. This will enable taller riders to travel in comfort in the NX. The back seat will accommodate two adults of average stature, although individuals taller than 6 feet may need extra head and leg room. The car also has a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone temperature control, and a tonne of other standard safety features.

The NX 350 doesn't have as much cargo space as many of its competitors. The NX falls short with a cargo capacity of 22.7cu-ft against all its adversaries while the BMW X3 2022 measures 28.7 cu-ft, the Genesis GV70 2022 measures 28.9 cu-ft, and the Acura RDX 2022 measures 29.5 cu-ft. When the back seats are folded, the rear storage space decreases from 54.6 to 46.9 cu-ft, which is a very minor amount for the class while the BMW X3 sDrive30i has a cargo capacity that expands to 62.7 cu-ft in its class.

Some of its key interior features include

  • SmartAccess with push-button Start/Stop.
  • NuLuxe interior trim.

How intuitive is the 2022 Lexus NX 350 Infotainment system?

The Lexus NX 350 infotainment system has been revamped for the model year 2022 and includes a 9.8-inch touchscreen display and a 7-inch multi-information display and a 10-speaker Lexus premium sound system. As soon as they are linked, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto join that column. Saying "Hey Lexus" or tapping an overlay symbol on the display can enable voice commands for users. Voice commands can access a virtual assistant that is hosted in the cloud or control car operations.

Some of its salient infotainment features are

  • Lexus Interface with a 9.8-inch multimedia touchscreen display.
  • Wi-Fi Connect with AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot and Integrated Streaming compatibility.
  • Bluetooth and USB smartphone connectivity.
  • 10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System.
  • Lexus app and voice command with active sound control.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Exterior

The 2022 Lexus NX has an even more aggressive look than previously, which helps it stand out from the competition effectively. The blacked-out spindle grille and air vents on the front end, as opposed to chrome components for the other trims, make the Lexus NX 350's brand-new chassis a definite impression. The lip spoiler and LED DRLs further contribute to the sportiness. Sharper, less fussy headlights sit on each side of a sizable spindle grille with a modern, tessellated mesh design, and the new, full-width taillight panel has L-shaped outer components. Regarding the profile, the attractive 20-inch wheels, the blacked-out pillars, mirrors, and wheels, as well as the suitably lengthy wheelbase and length, add to the elegance. The wheel flares are noticeable, and the sides have crisp character lines that resemble origami. The taillights are connected by a full-width rear light.

In comparison, the Acura RDX 2022 comes equipped with a ground clearance measuring 8.2 inches and if the vehicle needs to go off-road, higher ground clearance is always better and it offers more practicality and it absorbs road shocks better. Additionally, the 2022 RDX comes with track width measuring 64.2 and 64.7 inches at the front and rear which decreases their weight transfer and helps in steering. On the other hand, the 2022 Genesis GV70 offers a longer wheelbase measuring 113.2 inches which ensures a better and more comfortable ride and the car is less likely to become unsettled than with a shorter wheelbase.

Some of its key exterior features are

  • 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels with Dark Gray and a machined finish.
  • Auto-dimming heated outside mirrors with auto tilt-down in reverse.
  • Bi-LED headlamps and daytime running lights.

  •  Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Intersection Support.
  • Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
  • Intelligent High Beams.
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.

Competition

2022 Lexus NX 350 vs 2022 Acura RDX

In comparison to the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder in the Acura RDX, the standard 2.4L turbo 4-cylinder in the Lexus NX 350 generates 3 more horsepower and 37 lb-ft more torque, however, the Acura RDX accelerates quickly in the 0 to 60 MPH and quarter mile time. On the other hand, the brake rotors of the NX are bigger than those on the RDX for increased stopping power. The front and rear disc brakes on the NX come standard with vents to aid with heat dissipation for quicker stops with less fade. The RDX has solid, not vented, rear discs. The NX's turning circle is .9 feet smaller than the RDX for enhanced maneuverability. Additionally, the Lexus NX's 350 rear seats recline for increased passenger comfort on lengthy travels making it a more preferred option than its counterpart.

2022 Lexus NX 350 vs 2022 Genesis GV70

It would be an understatement to say that the 2022 Lexus NX350 left an impression on us: Even a Lexus that is designated as F Sport surprised us by being so fun. The NX's idea of luxury is also one we like: It is targeted at younger consumers, who we believe are more inclined to abandon preconceived assumptions about what status looks like. We believe the Lexus NX350 will appeal to them as a whole. Although the competition tightened on our tricky handling route, the 2022 Genesis GV70 maintained its early lead for the whole of our testing day. However, that only makes up a small part of our test, and generally, the GV70 seems more powerful and prestigious. In addition, it has a bigger, better rear seat and simpler controls. While we had some severe issues with the Lexus, the Genesis just had a few minor flaws. Both models are excellent little luxury SUVs, but the Genesis GV70 is just more effective.

2022 Lexus NX 350 vs 2022 BMW X3

The Lexus NX and BMW X3 are two of the segment's best-selling vehicles, and a facelift of the NX for 2022 may improve its standing. The 2022 Lexus NX is better equipped to compete with rivals like the BMW X3, which currently offers several diverse versions, each with its own personality. The NX 350 outperforms with a better engine output has 14 more horsepower and 44 lb-ft of more torque and it has a better fuel efficiency than the BMW X3. The Lexus NX offers an engine immobilizer, wheels-lock, and security system and additionally, Lexus provides superior connectivity systems and features over its counterpart.

Final Verdict

Yes, we recommend buying the Lexus NX 350 SUV as it returns to the compact luxury class with a revamped look, safety features, infotainment features, engine prowess, and spacious cabin making it stand out apart from the other SUVs present in its competition. The new turbocharged engine that powers the 2022 Lexus NX 350 does improve it over the previous 2.0L engine in terms of refinement. Additionally, the Lexus NX 350 2022 has received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS while the NX does not lead its class in terms of cargo capacity, interior spaciousness, or overall performance, it performs well enough in each area to be a desirable option.
