Overview

The 2019 Kia Rio Sedan makes for an excellent contender in the subcompact sedan class. With two trims on offer, the Kia Rio has a base MSRP of $15,390, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $16,190, competing directly with the Hyundai Accent, the Chevrolet Sonic, and the Toyota Yaris. Only a 1.6L Inline 4 engine is offered, mated to a 6-speed automatic. Together, they produce 130 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, the Rio maintains a combined fuel economy of 32 MPG. Kia offers the Rio in 6 stunning colors, with the Azurite blue pearl being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

Just at the right price, the Kia Rio offers great value in its class. Among the two trims, the base trim is ideal for budget buyers but if you want more comfort in your compact sedan, the S trim is indeed the right choice. Some features that you’d get only in the S trim are remote keyless entry with a trunk opener, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7-inch touchscreen display, a six-speaker stereo, an additional USB port, cruise control, a 60/40-split folding rear seats with adjustable headrests and, a center console with a sliding armrest.

              A Good Little Car!

              Pros - ["- Excellent gas mileage", "- very nice interior"]

              Cons - ["- looks a little TOO boxy", "- should come with a CD player"]

              I love how this car is great on gas! Also, the interior is very nice and I love the display screen and the Bluetooth capabilities. I also love the back up camera. I do wish it came with a CD player though.
