Overview

The Jaguar XF is an executive saloon that is represented as an outstanding example of the British carmaker’s engineering excellence. The 2021 XF Sedan looks and feels entirely new. Its crisp, sporty lines spell out Jaguar design like no other Jaguar. Each line is honed to perfection, making it a stunning creation that is both functional and beautiful.

Buying Advice

On a whole, all three trims were well determined and executed with all the essential features as standard across all the trims. Now, if you’re looking for a basic commuter with an ample set of features, the SE would be ideal for you. Else, choose the R-Dynamic to unleash the sporty spirit in you.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

With a starting price tag of $43,995, the Jaguar XF retains most of the mechanicals but arrives with sleek new styling and a host of technology features. The XF Sedan’s low, aerodynamic silhouette, and enhanced powertrain make it a comfortable and dynamic driving experience. Its wavy, fluid lines represent the Jaguar’s strength, poise, and agility. It competes in a highly competitive arena, facing German hotshots like the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and BMW 5 Series

Features

The Jaguar XF is available in three trim levels; S, SE, and R-Dynamic SE. All three trims feature the same powertrain while the R-Dynamic variant is capable of inducing some extra horsepower. All the variants are equipped with standard stuff like Dual-zone climate control, Rain sensing wipers, heated front seats, LED headlights, leather upholstery, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a 12-speaker Meridian audio system. Additionally, the R-Dynamic customers have a sport-tuned suspension system and 16-way power-adjustable front seats at their disposal.

On the connectivity and infotainment front, it comes with a PIVI infotainment system integrated with an 11.4-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio and Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. The SE variant is eligible for various optional packages like the Dynamic Handling Pack(Adaptive dampers, Rear spoiler, Red brake calipers), Black Exterior Styling package(Black-painted grille, grille surround, bumper surrounds), Cold Climate Pack(Heated steering wheel, heated windshield) and a Convenience Pack(Soft-closing doors, Rear sunshade).

2021 Jaguar XF vs 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

While both of these luxury sedans are in the top form, the Mercedes-Benz has a higher predicted reliability rating, according to the JDPower.com rankings. The Jaguar is more efficient than the E-Class, being able to go up to 33 mph on the highway with just one gallon of gas as compared to 31 mph for the Mercedes. On top of that, it has a greater maximum cargo volume and a larger number of standard and optional features.

The XF provides an impressive driving experience that includes precise steering along with confidence-inspiring cornering and braking capabilities. The E-Class is characterized by its sophisticated suspension system that features stiffer springs and shocks than competitors'. It also boasts impressive handling that makes it easy for drivers to feel confident in their ability while on the road.

2021 Jaguar XF vs 2021 Audi A6

If you're in the market for a sleek and stylish midsize luxury sedan, you should definitely consider the 2021 Audi A6 which is a direct competitor for Jaguar XF. It's an attractive vehicle due to its design, performance, and luxury value. In terms of performance, Audi's numbers are better than the Jaguar's, but it doesn't have all that much more technology as standard onboard.

The Audi has something called Virtual Cockpit 2. This mode gives drivers a customizable dashboard that can be modified any way they choose and provides them with a fully digital view ahead while driving. This is so much easier to use than the Jag, which needs drivers to revert back and forth between windshields or opt for a head-up display in some cases.

2021 Jaguar XF vs 2021 BMW 5 Series

For over a decade or more, Germany has held the market for luxury sedans, with BMW's 5 Series leading the way. The 5 Series offer a wide range of powerful engines and a plethora of driver-assistance and convenience features as standard.

Although the BMW 5 Series might exhibit better overall performance than the Jaguar XF, the latter offers a much more refined and approachable handling for 10 grand less. The interior quality and seating room on the BMW 5 Series are larger than that of Jaguar XF.

Final Verdict

The Jaguar XF is a compact executive car that delivers outstanding luxury and performance exceeding its price. With an MSRP of $43,995, the Jaguar XF stands out as a more convincing value for money proposition than any car in its segment. With a bold design, impeccable quality inside and out, and a powerful range of engines to choose from - the Jaguar XF has absolutely got it all at the right price. But for people with a moneyed pocket, in quest of a more powerful engine should give the competitors a try.
