... months later and with owning this car for just 15 months I had to have it towed out of my garage and back to the dealer. Nothing functions at all and I doubt I’ll ever be able to trust this thing to ever work properly. I’m sorry I traded in my 10 year old Infiniti to buy this piece of junk. Read More

... have using it for my personal use. Stoneacre at Chesterfield have been great but they are working with a rogue product. Its latest issue being that i couldn’t unlock it with the key, the proximity detectors didn't work , the On Call just locked - pretty frustrating given that id only just collected it back from the dealership having had it reprogrammed. Love the car, the looks, spec etc but don't trust it and its not what you expect from a £40k plus car with 2000 miles onRead More

At a glance, the Volvo XC60 gets it all – style, safety, luxury, and modernity. The luxury SUV features elegant and classy styling and comes with a premium and opulent interior. The list of standard features is expansive and you can further add to it by tacking on optional features. The spaciousness of the cabin also allows occupants to relax and pay attention to all the details carved within. Tech is another front you will certainly appreciate along with the commendable choice of fuel-efficient powertrains.

It is also relatively reliable, registering only 7 complaints on the NHTSA website, but at the same time, it also has had 4 recalls as of yet.

2020 Volvo XC60 User Complaints and Problems

Engine and Mechanical Problems

  • Brakes - One owner complains that while they driving the vehicle, it began to decelerate independently and it had to be stopped by pressing the brake pedal. There were no warning lights. The owner experienced the same problem a second time as well and it was taken to the dealer, where they failed to recreate the problem. Another user complains that just a day after getting their vehicle, the rear rotors had to be replaced as they were defective.

Electrical Problems

  • Infotainment - A user complains that the center screen would blackout whenever they would back out of the driveway in reverse. The camera works under normal conditions but whenever the vehicle is put in reverse, it completely turns off. Another user claims that while driving the vehicle, the infotainment screen turned into a bright barcode.

Safety Problems

  • Forward collision warning - The user claims that while they were slowing to turn, even though there was no obstacle in front of the vehicle, it still applied the emergency brakes, making it come to a full stop.
  • Tires - In the case of an owner, the rear driver-side tire blew out without any incident. The tire had around 10,600 miles on it but there was no visible damage to the tire or any other part of the wheel.

Should you buy the 2020 Volvo XC60?

The XC60 is definitely a very desirable luxury family SUV but that doesn’t mean that it is completely flawless. There are a few issues with the XC60 as we have discussed above, but at the same time, these are not widespread. Most of the issues mentioned above have already been resolved by Volvo during the recalls, but there are still a few outliers, which is quite common in every vehicle’s case. So, as of now, we can say that the XC60 is mostly trouble-free but you may find occasional problems every now and then.
