Armed with a 2.0L Turbo Supercharged Inline-4 engine and a rear motor electric system and an 11.6 kWh battery, fused to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the 2020 Volvo S60 Plug-in Hybrid makes 400 horsepower and 473 lb-ft of torque. Standalone, the engine makes 316 horsepower while the electric motor manages 87 horsepower. The same plug-in hybrid system dubbed as T8 makes 415 horsepower and 494 lb-ft of torque on the Polestar Engineered trim.Â
This powertrain helps the 2020 Volvo S60 Plug-in Hybrid cover 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with lower output and 4.1 seconds with higher output.
