The Porsche Cayenne was built to do one thing, deliver performance like no other and it does exactly that. The Cayenne stands out in the segment with its eye-catching styling and sleek interiors combined with sportscar-like performance.

Under the hood, the 2022 Cayenne Coupe is available with a range of engines, including a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 335 horsepower, a turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 that produces 434 horsepower, and a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 541 horsepower. All engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. While the Cayenne delivers on all fronts, its overtly expensive price tag leaves room for other rivals to be considered.

Moving on, we take a detailed look at the recalls and some of the issues faced by the owners of the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe User Complaints and Problems

Engine and Mechanical Problems

  • Brakes - Some owners have had complaints about the brakes. One owner complained that when downshifting and just before coming to a complete stop, the vehicle lurches/surges forward even though their foot is on the brake pedal. This happens in every drive mode with or without Autostart/stop engaged. Another owner complained that when they connect their digital brake controller or 7-pin cable with a trailer the vehicle doesn't communicate with the brake controller.

Electrical Problems

  • Battery - Some owners have complained about the battery. An owner complained that they have had repeated problems with the battery in their 2022 Cayenne. They added that if the vehicle is left sitting for approximately 48 hours, the battery dies and must be jumpstarted. The issue had been reported to Porsche but the issue stays unresolved.

Should you buy the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe?

While the 2022 Cayenne Coupe does not have any user complaints or recalls as per the NHTSA, users of previous models of Cayenne have had some common issues with the electrical system including issues with the infotainment system, dashboard display, and warning lights. Issues with suspension have also been reported especially with the air suspension. Other issues faced by users are in regard to the braking system and transmission. Although it would be hard to predict the Cayenne Coupe’s reliability rating as it is a relatively new model, the Cayenne has generally had positive reliability ratings which could be expected to reflect in the Coupe model.

Overall the 2022 Porsche Cayenne is definitely a great SUV but to go ahead with it depends on your priority. If you're looking for an SUV that delivers unmatched performance then the Cayenne is for you.
