Fuel Economy
5.0/10

With the intelligent CVT tech under the hood, the 2020 QX50 offers decent fuel efficiency for the 2020 model year. The 2020 INFINITI QX50 assures 22 MPG on the city, 28 MPG on highways, and 25 MPG combined EPA ratings. The QX50 gets a small 16-gallon fuel tank that offers 352 miles of range on city drives and 448 miles on highways. This means that though the engine would save your pocket, it would demand frequent visits to the gas station.

The 2020 INFINITI QX50 is the most efficient in the competition. Cadillac XT5 is the thirstiest but has the largest fuel tank of 21.7 cubic feet, which awards the best-in-class range figures. Contrarily, the most efficient QX50 gets the least range figures in the competition. The Merc and Acura offer decent mileage of 24 and 23 MPG, respectively, and a comparably larger fuel tank than the INFINITI.

Interior
7.0/10

The 2020 INFINITI QX50 gets good-looking interior appointments that reflect both aesthetics and sophistication. The cabin is plentifully spacious and airy, offering a good amount of outward visibility. The upscale cabin layout with plenty of features impresses us. It seats 5 passengers with ample comfort and room. The seats feature a heating and ventilation facility for the upper trims, along with 8-way power adjustability and memory settings.

The top-of-the-line Autograph trim gets leather seats and wood trims in the cabin. It also offers features such as tri-zone automatic climate control, a motion-activated power liftgate, head-up display, and direct adaptive steering. The panoramic sunroof on offer brings a lot of light into the cabin. The rear seats feature a 60/40 split-folding function. The vehicle offers 31 cubic feet with all the seats up. With the folded rear seats, it expands to 65 cubic feet.

The Premium White Leather Package that comes with the Autograph trim escalates the upmarket aura even further. The quilted white leather seating with contrast-colored stitching makes it look more royal.

Exterior
6.0/10

The 2020 INFINITI QX50 is one of the handsome-looking SUVs in the segment. With the traditional styling and design language of the INFINITI cars, the crossover looks chunky and muscular. The aggressive front fascia with the massive grille adds to the sporty character of the crossover and perfectly complements the performance figures it offers. For the higher trims, the brand offers better equipment like the ice-cube headlights, dual exhausts, 20-inch wheels, motion-activated power liftgate, integrated LED front fog lights, and an integrated rear spoiler.

The overall design language is clean and elegant, distinctly reflecting the arrogance of the powertrain. The massive panoramic moonroof lets a good amount of light and air into the cabin. It gets the best-in-class 8.6” of ground clearance, which gives good ride quality even over bumpy roads. Apart from all these, the vehicle gets UV-reducing solar glass. Coming to the rear end, you’ll see the LED brake lights and center high-mounted stoplight.

Competition
6.0/10

2020 INFINITI QX50 vs 2020 Cadillac XT5

The Cadillac XT5 is a stiff rival to the INFINITI QX50. The vehicle features a smooth and refined 9-speed automatic transmission which goes better against the CVT in the INFINITI QX50. On the other hand, the QX50 gets better power figures and efficiency figures than the Cadillac, which makes INFINITI a more appealing choice.

2020 INFINITI QX50 vs 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Class

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is one of the best SUVs in the class. The German engineering reflects luxury, space, and sophistication and grabs every eye with its astonishing design and style. The reliability of the trusted brand and a more affordable price tag give a better word for the Merc. Still, the INFINITI QX50 is more powerful and practical than the Merc.

2020 INFINITI QX50 vs 2020 Acura RDX

The Acura RDX is far more affordable than any of the rivals in the segment. Be the powertrain or handling, QX50 takes over the advantage. QX50 has slightly better interior space and cargo capacity. Moreover, it has better dimensions, efficiency, and driving dynamics than the Acura RDX.

Final Verdict

The 2020 INFINITI QX50, with better and updated equipment, is a better package as a whole. In this competitive segment of crossover SUVs, the QX50 manages to find its position by excelling in more than one area of evaluation. It handles precisely and looks the best. Though the ride quality of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Class remains unmatched, the INFINITI QX50 at an affordable price tag would be a worthy buy. With advanced features for comfort and safety, QX50 vehicle would be a perfect pick in the segment.
