The 2017 Hyundai Elantra is a four-door compact sedan available in four trim levels: SE, Eco, Limited, and Sport. The Elantra GT hatchback is also available and is reviewed separately. The base price of the 2017 Elantra sedan starts at an MSRP of $17,150 and goes up to $22,350 for the luxury-oriented Elantra Limited.
The base Elantra SE model is short on features, especially if you buy it with a 6-speed manual transmission. It comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, 15-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, and a six-speaker sound system with satellite radio and a CD player. With the SE Automatic variant, you get the Popular Equipment package as standard which adds a 7-inch touch screen, a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, cruise control, and alloy wheels.

The SE models with the Tech package gain LED daytime running lights, keyless ignition and entry, a hands-free trunk opener, blind spot detection, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and push-button start. Next up in the Elantra lineup is the SE Value Edition. It's basically an SE with Popular Equipment and Tech package.
The Elantra Eco and Elantra Limited trims come standard with all of these features. The Eco additionally gets a more fuel-efficient turbocharged engine, while the Limited adds leather seats and Blue Link connectivity. Notably, only the top-range Limited trim gets access to advanced safety features like forwarding collision warning and adaptive cruise control.
If you want more athleticism, the 2017 Elantra lineup offers a more powerful Sport trim. It is equipped similar to the Limited, but it is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. It gains 18-inch alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension and steering, bigger brakes, special front and rear fascias, xenon headlights, and some interior touches such as alloy pedals and a black headliner.
