Overview

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 Sedan makes for an excellent contender in the midsize sedan segment. Being a standalone trim, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 Sedan has a base MSRP of $101,000, competing directly with the BMW M5, the Audi RS 7, and the Porsche Panamera 4S. Only a 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder engine is offered, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, the AMG GT 53 Sedan maintains a combined fuel economy of 22 MPG. Mercedes offers the AMG GT 53 Sedan in 10 stunning colors, with the Brilliant Blue Metallic being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 Sedan offers a beautiful and promising package at an impressive price point. However, the competitors are found to be stronger than it in this segment. For the ultimate driver’s machine, you should blindly go with the BMW M5. If you need more space inside the cabin, choose the Audi RS 7 which is slightly slower than the Bimmer (still much faster than the Merc) but also happens to be the most spacious and practical option here. However, if you’re fine with the two-people rear seat configuration and you’re looking for a blend of luxury and performance, you should go with the Porsche Panamera 4S. Because it is as fast as the Merc, has everything the Merc has and it can do everything the Merc does, but it does it slightly better for a slightly higher price.
