Overview

An intriguing coupe format formulated to intensify the aerodynamics of cars, Lexus leaves no chance to please its shoppers with an abundance of vehicle offerings. Such a personality of the car also promises with stunning Lexus RC F. Ahead of its obligatory aesthetics a punching unleaded V8 engine pours 472 horsepower. The adaptive brakes suspensions join hands with Brembo six-piston brake calipers and a limited-slip rear differential are what mechanics conquer as one of the most stylish coupes. A rear wheel and aggressive vehicle not only encompasses a thrilling spirit but also serves as a good and comfortable grand tourer. Contending with popular names in the industry, its heavy body, and aging platform hold it back from having the handling dynamics of a genuine sports coupe. Priced well below the classmates, this ensures your need for consolation and a motivating powerhouse, while European has even better momentum with additional cash.

The competitors of the car are the BMW M4 Coupe, the Mercedes C63 AMG, and the Audi RS 5.

Buying Advice

The car is blank mostly if you are not going for optional packages. Standard leather upholstery and power movable front seats can assure your relief, but the elements of the premium package make driving even more classy and better. This includes heated and ventilated front seats, power tilt and telescopic heated steering wheel, and front and rear parking sensors for precise handling during parking. The carbon fiber package adds carbon fiber traces everywhere on the car. Though, its Navigation/ Mark Levinson package brings hope with a 17-speaker audio system, navigation connectivity, voice recognition, and an even bigger 10.3-inch infotainment display.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

For the 2023 generation of Lexus RC F, the manufacturer has not made any announcements. Last year it deleted its mid-range track-focused model of RC F leaving the base model and top-spec Fuji Speedway Edition in the pocket only. The competitors of the car are the BMW M4 Coupe, the Mercedes C63 AMG, and the Audi RS 5.

Features
7.0/10

This cool-looking sports coupe is provided in single format Despite its Fuji Speedway Edition which is reviewed and available separately on the website, the base RC F model is the one. Empowered with a V8 engine, it makes 472 horsepower. Adaptive suspensions, power-adjustable front-row seats, simulated leather upholstery, and forward collision mitigation are some of the features for driver's convenience and aids. Speed-activated rear spoiler, Brembo six-piston brake calipers, launch control, limited-slip rear differential, 19-inch wheels with summer performance tires, and drive mode selector are the features responding to the quick intentions of the car.

Engine and Performance
7.0/10

This Lexus coupe receives its preaches from a 5.0L premium unleaded V8 engine. It does so, by eliciting 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. Matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the producer decides to only fetch it in RWD architecture. The amazing four-seater coupe is prepared to achieve a 0-60 mph point in just 4 seconds– an astonishing number for a car, still the Germans have more stamina to decrease this time frame. Running at a momentum of 115 mph, RC F completes a quarter-miles distance in 12.4 seconds. Unlike several other Lexus cars, this is a super fun-to-drive machine. It is responsive and communicative. Transmission shifts are not ultimately of high-end culture but offer a seamless experience. With launch control, it is staggering. The engine sounds insane and punches you back with applauding power. Not just that, it also promotes a sense of luxury and comfort, that people can take on long distances. As a vehicle connected to road, the characteristics are a blessing when revving against another car. But becomes a curse when potholes and speed bumps try to counter the vehicle. City drives are smoothies. It grabs people's attention with its design, but it's screaming V8 also persuades people. On highways, it is a rocket-propelling car for shoppers driving it for the first time. RC F runs faster than many opponents. An average first-gear ratio of 4.60 goes down to 1.23 till the fifth and melts completely when the eighth gear shifts at 0.69. Even in the reverse condition, it just takes a span of 2.18 seconds.

New BMW M4 Coupe and Mercedes AMG C63 are the fastest coupe cars available now in the market. Being the most affordable coupe, the Lexus RC F price makes it the most approachable vehicle in 2023. With Audi RS5, it takes almost identical timings to catch momentum. Mercedes C63 AMG being the costliest coupe in its segment, sends a considerable jump in its power and torque output. Except for the Audi RS 5, the remaining vehicles are tuned with an RWD drivetrain. Looking at its segment, Lexus RC F 0-60 numbers are not wholly miserable. It very well manages itself to be in a contending position. Though Lexus RC F's top speed does not cope with its classmates. It lives behind them.

2023 Lexus RC F Ride and Handling

Driving perception of the RC F Coupe is incredible. It lends a great equilibrium of relaxedness and speed. Very precisely handles the vehicle and inculcates a very bit of body roll around corners. Its assembled nature and heavy body feel a little diminishing factor in its class, as competitors blend better acceleration and are easy to handle. Driver feels connected when steering it on track. Thanks to its low turning radius, the RC F coupe jumps ahead of others. This ensures good maneuverability. While turning it carves a diameter of 35.4 ft only. A limited-slip rear differential increases RC F's power and speed by utilizing power more efficiently. Thus allowing for steadier and more enjoyable rides. The speed-activated rear spoiler bestows a glimpse of a high-end performance car. Adaptive suspension dampers electronically adjust the coupe’s ride and handling characteristics based on driver preference and changes in the driving environment. On front wheels, Lexus sends double-wishbone suspensions responsible for elevating comfort while Multi-link suspension on rear wheels allows the vehicle to bend more. Out of five drive modes on Lexus RC F, Eco is responsible for restricting vehicle performance and saving fuel. Normal is the default mode for daily driving. Sport S mode brings upscaled acceleration, while Sport S+ transmits the true intentions of the car by sharpening steering, aggressive engine response, and accurate handling. Snow mode offers traction to tires to prevent slippery surfaces. Standard 19-inch wheels with P255/35YR19 tires.

2023 Lexus RC F Braking System

Tremendous six-piston Brembo brake calipers are so confident. They are stable and can be trusted in emergency braking circumstances. Standard anti-lock braking system prevents them from locking under panic or harsh braking conditions. Forward collision mitigation alerts of an anticipated crash and applies brake in foolproof situations. Emergency braking assists when the vehicle detects a potential collision ahead, giving a warning to the driver. When no action is taken from the driver’s end. It automatically applies the brake to bring the car to a standstill as soon as possible.

New Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe is the heaviest vehicle in the comparison. Relatively to its highest price, it shelters an approximating weight. The 2023 BMW M4 Coupe is the least-weighing car that handles the largest brake calipers in its rear wheels. Lexus RC F curb weight makes it lighter than Audi RS 5. Like BMW, it offers same-sized rotors on its front wheels. Rear and front wheels of Audi are endowed with the shortest brakes. Meanwhile, Mercedes sends the biggest on its front. BMW M4 Braking distance is impressively lowest. Despite the high weighing body, Mercedes stops faster than Lexus. Taking curb weight and brake of RS5 into account, a literate assumption validates that it stops lowest in comparison.

Fuel Economy
6.5/10

The bigger an engine is the lesser the mileage numbers are. Because the Lexus RC F contains a large engine concealed into it, discussing a good fuel economy is not a topic worth thinking about. The coupe sends a combined mileage of 19 mpg. In the city, it earns 16 mpg, while on highways, it shows respect by getting 24 mpg. The car shows 330.6 miles of combined range when done with its refueling of a 17.4 gallon fuel tank. City and highway miles turn out as 278.4 and 417.6 miles respectively.

Audi RS 5 is the most efficient coupe available on the market. Lexus RC F mpg is better than BMW offers in its M4 coupe. With its hugest fuel-carrying capacity, it scores one of the highest miles of range on the table– the Mercedes C63 AMG tops the table with the same. On highways, C63 AMG and RS 5 score equal mpg, while Audi jumps ahead with one mpg combined. The same phenomenon occurs when BMW M4 Coupe lacks one more mpg on highways than Lexus.

Interior
7.0/10

Strategically designed cabin of Lexus RC F speaks an expensive language. Posh and high-quality elements doing their duty inside the car look rich and premium. A solaceful cabin makes its way to deliver the maximum level of comfort to the people seated in the cockpit. This two-door coupe is attached to the ground and sometimes creates a complexion to go in. Due to its size and segment, the doors open widely and acclimate people. A nice and appraising material used for door panels provides a soft understanding. It further cooks controls for window adjustments and fetches a little space that does not offer any practicality. Amazing dashboard counters good and sturdy quality components embossing. It deals strongly with a fine and straight-looking approach. Four AC vents make their way to you. The vaguely situated 7-inch infotainment touchscreen looks good but shoppers consider it distracting. Though it assigns connections for both Apple and Android phones. Prosperous seats are leather treated, but demand extra money to add heating and ventilation.

A simple steering column is manually tilted and telescopic and asks for extra cash to add a power function and heating facility. Compact center armrest only offers space to rest one arm. It further includes storage underneath. Gear shifter, two cup holders, a touchpad controller for infotainment, and a small number of physical buttons make the whole cabin look fulfilling.

Even in second-row seats, the BMW M4 Coupe presents the highest legroom for passengers. Front-row seats of Lexus RC F offer the best space for people. It is a compact car that does not have much to offer in terms of headroom or shoulder room. Mercedes offers good comfortable seats and its seating dimensions are worth spending money on it. Even after scoring good marks for passenger comfort BMW again tops the table with the highest trunk space. The cargo space on Lexus RC F is competitive in the segment.

How intuitive is the 2023 Lexus RC F Infotainment System?

Lexus throws a list of tech features into the RC F infotainment system. A standard 7-inch center-boxed infotainment screen looks good and complements the cabin layout. It is bright and offers nice graphics. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections. Though, shoppers complain about it and leave it as a distracting element in the dashboard. Scout GPS Link navigation and a 10-speaker sound system with SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth connectivity are standard offerings with the base model. Amazon Alexa voice integration and WiFi hotspot connections enrich the internet surfing experience. The navigation pack brings a 17-speaker sound system with a 10.3-inch screen.

  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • SiriusXM Satellite Radio

Exterior

Its dominating and aggressive exterior ambiance makes Lexus looks hotter than many rivals. Sharp-edged design elements present a strong personality ever readied to roar with pride. The curvaceous hood bends to the ground and plants a huge signature-style grille of Lexus. The grille is fully furnished with chrome painted in the dark and deploys Lexus’ logo at the center of it. Character lines on the bonnet prove the car a way more appealing than its rivals. The edged front spoiler is connected to the ground helping the car to derive a great center of gravity. Similar to its whole design, stylish headlights engage LED functionality. Side profile grants a sloping roof that merges with the back purposefully. Standard 19-inch wheels hold the hand tightly with summer performance tires of measurement P255/35YR19 Fashionable outside rearview mirrors are power folded. All black trim surrounds the window and door panels. Rear end highlights the active spoiler which comes to function according to the speed of RC F. It further increases the aerodynamic efficiency of Lexus. Power liftgate rear cargo, LED brake lights, four visible exhaust tips and the Lexus logo combines the look of the car.

Competition

2023 Lexus RC F vs. 2023 BMW M4 Coupe

BMW costs additional and brings a noticeably faster acceleration. Even second-row seats on BMW are worth seating. On the other hand, Lexus bring it only for fashion or kids to play. BMW offers more cargo capacity, while Lexus tires bring more miles of range, thanks to its segment-lading fuel-carrying capacity.

2023 Lexus RC F vs. 2023 Mercedes AMG C63 Coupe

Mercedes is the most expensive coupe, but it justifies its price by sending a great leap in horsepower and torque productivity. It also offers more weight, while Lexus RC F is comparatively a low weighing vehicle. Lexus beats Mercedes when it gives a powertrain warranty for 70,000 miles or up to six years, while Mercedes has the option for 4 years or 50,000 miles.

2023 Lexus RC F vs. 2023 Audi RS 5

Audi costs a little higher, enclosing itself as a better option. Both of these vehicles retain a relative level of cargo space. The exterior aesthetics of Lexus RC F look even more aggressive and compelling than the usual design of Audi. But in terms of cabin layout and ease of use, Audi beats Lexus very effortlessly. With less money, Lexus has more standard features.

Final Verdict

Yes. This Lexus coupe can be considered over other vehicles. Stylish and distinctive exterior outlooks, less price tag, more standard driver assistance, safety aids, a comfortable cabin, and strong built quality are some of the areas where the car stands strong. Pathetic second-row space, lower cargo capacity, and distracting infotainment system are the drawbacks that Lexus RC F possesses. Wanting a car with good seating for four? BMW M4 Coupe is the one that charges extra. Believes in the AMG line of Mercedes? C63 AMG Mercedes is the most expensive option in the segment. Or aspires to bring Racing Sport (RS)? Audi sends it RS5 to contend fearlessly.
