The 2015 Honda Civic Sedan features to be one of the most well-built cars in the space owing to its 5-star NHTSA safety rating. Though it has no J.D power rating as such but this 143 hp powered family sedan seems to be equipped with decent machinery all around its high-strength steel and aluminum frame for a base MSRP of $19,325.

That being said, the lineup starting with the Honda Civic LX 2015 and ending with the Honda Civic 2015 EXL goes on to have multiple levels of enhancement in the reliability and safety quotients. Such intricacies bring it right in front of the competitors such as the Ford Focus, Chevy Cruze, and the Hyundai Elantra

User Complaints and Problems

The 2015 Honda Civic problems stand with a tally of 247 besides those 2 major investigations. Some of them have been mentioned below:

Mechanical Problems

  • Brakes - The Honda Civic 2015 Sedan is prone to braking malfunction causing unintended acceleration and speeding the car. Such an issue can be fatal at the time of the crash.
  • Powertrain - The Honda Civic seems to have transmission issues such as transmission fluid leakage along with unwanted vibrations and stalling. One also finds it difficult sometimes to make shifts in the gear and sluggish response at the shift, both of which can be an expensive affair.
  • Steering - The 2015 Civic Sedan can have pull either to the left or right side due to improper steering and wheel geometry, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
  • Engine - The 2015 Honda Civic engine has been reported to have problems regarding stalling and sudden loss of power. There are some instances where the CVT belt breaks apart. All of these can prove fatal.

Electrical Problems

  • Battery - The 2015 Honda Civic Battery issue has been a consistent pain for many years as the Parasitic Battery Drain can cause quick discharge and cranking incompatibility all at once.
  • Body Control Module (BCM) - Defective BCM is associated with faulty door actuators and security alarms

Safety Problems

  • Airbags - The Civic 2015 may have airbag deployment failure at the time of the crash which can cause major injuries.
  • Backup Camera - The Honda Civic's backup camera's improper functioning is connected to the loss of rearview backup camera display graphics, increasing the probability of crashes.

2015 Honda Civic Recalls

As per NHTSA data, the Honda Civic 2015 has been very impressive in terms of its serious concerns and issues as the figure restrains at 1 only. Moreover, the Honda Civic Air Conditioning recalls, Air Compressor recalls and other predecessor flaws have been negated to zero as well for this MY.

With improper functioning of the transmission shaft pulley, the risk of losing acceleration increases and so is the chance of the front wheel locking up.
