Overview

The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan is a compact sedan offered in 4 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $17,395. For that price, it mainly competes with the Honda Civic Sedan, the Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, and the Mazda 3 Sedan. Between 4 trims, the Lancer offers 3 powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0L inline-4 capable of making 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 168 horsepower-making 2.4L inline-4 engine. Both engines offer a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic. For even more performance, exclusive to the Ralliart trim is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine that puts out 237 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Lancer reaches 60 mph from zero in 9.4 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 7.8 seconds with the 2.4 engine while the Ralliart achieved the same feat in just 6.0 seconds. Depending on the powertrain, the Lancer can manage a combined fuel economy of between 20 and 29 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 6 striking colors the Lancer comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer is a versatile car available in multiple trims with various powertrain choices. We recommend getting the Lancer GT which is loaded with features and comes with a more powerful engine over the base trims.
