Overview

The 2016 Cadillac CTS Sedan is a midsize sedan offered in 6 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $45,560. For that price, it mainly competes with the Acura RLX, the Volvo S90, and the Audi A6. Between 6 trims, the CTS offers 2 powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 capable of making 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 335 horsepower-making 3.6L V6 engine. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The CTS reaches 60 mph from zero in 6.1 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 5.7 seconds with the V6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the CTS can manage a combined fuel economy between 22 and 25 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 10 striking colors the CTS comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

The Standard CTS comes with a great bunch of standard and optional features that justify the price tag. However, aiming for the Luxury CTS won’t add much to your budget, while adding the V6 punch along with the contents of the Driver Awareness package. This elevates the appeal of the Luxury trim in the whole lineup.
