Overview
The 2016 Cadillac ATS Sedan is a compact sedan offered in 4 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $33,215. For that price, it mainly competes with the BMW 3 Series, the Audi A4, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan. Between 4 trims, the ATS offers 3 powertrain options.
The base engine is a 2.5L Inline-4 engine capable of making 202 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 272 horsepower-making 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine. Finally, a 3.6L V6 engine is offered that puts out 333 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. All the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission however, the 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine with RWD gets an optional 6-speed manual transmission as well.
The ATS reaches 60 mph from zero in 7.4 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 5.9 and 5.1 seconds with the turbocharged Inline-4 engine and V6 engine respectively. Depending on the powertrain, the ATS can manage a combined fuel economy between 22 and 26 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 10 striking colors the ATS comes in really pull you towards itself.
