Overview
Introduced initially in 2013, the Cadillac ATS is one of the more unpopular offerings in the augmenting luxury compact sedan class. While it looks the part with its subtle design and has a strong set of features to vaunt, the vehicle’s overall performance has been rather unsatisfactory. It lacks appropriate space in its trunk and rear seats and finds itself on the wrong side of the spectrum with its subpar reliability ratings. Yet, the ATS’s potent engine options and lively driving dynamics feed into the demands of enthusiasts.
The 2018 Cadillac ATS continues unchanged. It carries forward a similar set of strengths and weaknesses as its yesteryear models and could use an overhaul to improve its likability. The sedan comes equipped with a standard inline-4 unit, however, a 3.6L V6 engine is also optionally available. Its price starts at a little under $37,000, which might seem slightly exaggerated per its capabilities. Nonetheless, the 2018 ATS battles it out with established nameplates like the Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
